I think this question has been asked on here before but I was unable to find out exactly how this would work for us.

We currently have AP's that expire 6/9 and looking to possibly book a free dining bounce back this fall that would put us booking and traveling with this package while our AP's are still valid (traveling summer 2017).

If we book the package with the min 2 day tickets required I am under the impression that we can put those 2 days tickets (for our family of 4 Disney adults) in queue to use later making our AP's the primary ticket for getting into the park during this time. We are not interested at all in renewing our AP's so putting those tickets toward renewal is not a route we are considering.

My first question is how does this transaction with using the AP's instead of the 2 day package tickets work exactly...guest relations when we arrive?

My second question is, if this is possible, what would the expiration date on the 2 day tickets we put aside be, if we purchase the package in Sept 2016 and "queue" them in June 2017?

Last question is would the 2 days tickets still be assigned to each one of us personally, or would we be given 4 two day tickets that anyone can use?

1. Yes.
2. After you check in, you can do anything with those tickets that you like.
Go to any Ticket Booth or Guest Relations and upgrade to AP, if you like.
3. If you do nothing with those package tickets, they will stay valid "forever"
until you are ready to use them or upgrade them in the future.
4. You can re-assign new, unused tickets to anyone.
Remember that if you do not currently have any valid tickets, and you just buy TWO DAY tickets as part of your resort package, you can only book TWO DAYS of advance FP+.

If you intend to upgrade your tickets to APs after you arrive, you should really purchase the number of days worth of tickets it would take to fully cover this trip as part of your package,
Then, you can make FP+ reservations, in advance, for every day of your trip.

It would cost no more to do that and upgrade to AP, as the cost of the multi-day tickets will be transferred into the AP upgrade cost.

BTW, be sure to check what I added about FP+ in my first post.

I do actually have a follow up question about this. Since our AP's are valid until 6/9/17 if we buy the package with only 2 days tickets will this rule apply to us with the FP+ at 60 days out, or will we still be able to make FP+ selections for all of our days 60 days out because we have AP's?

If your last park day is 6/9 or earlier you would be able to make FP+ for your length of stay at 60 days using your AP. If your trip is after 6/9 (or whenever you decide to use the 2 day ticket in the future) you will only be able to reserve 2 days of fast passes
