Package Booking?

We have decided on a trip to DL for next summer and I'm trying to figure out budgeting. This will be our first family trip to DL and I feel so in the dark! I've gotten to the point where I know what I'm doing with a WDW vacation, but this seems like a whole new ballgame. So I know how package payments work when booked for WDW, but how does it work for DL packages? What about good neighbor hotel/ticket packages booked through the Disney site? Is it a deposit, then payment over time or do you have to do it all at once? And when are packages typically released? Sorry for all the questions. Probably many more to come over the course of the next year. :)

This will be my first time doing a package... From what I have read its a $200 deposit and you can make payments. Online it will only go till end of Dec right now. So you are going to have to wait for your date to available. I called and they Feb of next year will not be available until Aug ..

I'm looking to book for January and I've been checking out Costco's travel website. I called since you can only book to arrive up to December 31st and I was told to check back in June, in order to start booking 2016.

Thanks. Seems to be similar to WDW in terms of down payment and package release date time. Anyone know for sure whether the ability to make payments works for good neighbor hotel packages as well or is that just for Disney resort packages?

We always book our package with Disney and stay at a Good Neighbor hotel and the terms are the same.......$200 deposit and full payment 30 days out.

Have fun at DLR as its got as much packed into the 2 parks as WDW does in the 4.

I would highly recommend getting PH tickets with DL and DCA being right next to each other

Thank you! That's perfect. And we're definitely planning on hoppers!

Just a heads up, it's usually a bit cheaper to book your hotel and tickets separate instead of bundled in a package. The only difference is with a package they throw in a few freebies like a lanyard and maybe a free pic.

If you are going to book as a package and are a Costco member, consider booking through them. It is still a "Disney" package but for the same price you book through Disney, you get a gift card and meal voucher. Once we added in those extras the package was cheaper than doing tickets and our good neighbor hotel separately. I put the $200 down and then paid in about 3 more installments after that.
