Packable Snacks

We're planning on taking the individual sized (shelf stable) containers of soy milk for DD, but now I'm worried that leakage. Anyone else have a problem with them?

On our list is individual bags of gold fish, granola bars, make your own trail mix (Winco bulk section), pretzel rods-they hold up a bit better than regular pretzels, applesauce. I'm debating on weather or not to bring cheese sticks, I really want to bring them as DD loves them but not quite sure how to package them.

I just arrived at Anaheim flying from OK with 7 shelf stable milks. None leaked. They are vacuum sealed so no air to expand. They survived 2 take offs and 2 landings so lots of changes of pressure. I did bag them just in case

I froze all my cold stuff plus a few things that would have been fine but I wanted to have enough stuff to help it all stay cold, then put them in an insulated lunchbox with two small ice packs. Packed the lunch box full. It spent 5 hours in checked baggage and then about 4 in the bell check office still cold though not frozen when I got them to the fridge.

I've done this a few times now and works great.

Awesome, Thanks for the info

We packed apples and yogurts too. They were in a soft sided cooler in a suitcase. It is very cold in the baggage area on the plane. We did have some ice packs in there. The bananas didn't travel as well as the apples, but they were okay. We also had cliff bars, jif to go and packages of microwave popcorn. I would walk to the food court to pop it. I am thinking mini bagels for my next trip.

I saw these awesome little packets of crackers and hummus at the grocery store today. They were on sale 10 for $10. I don't know what the regular price is but I instantly thought of my park bag!

Yup popcorn was, microwaved in the food court. Those hummus things are great too

Big box of cheerios. You can grab milk at the hotel store. And they also make for a great low-sugar snack (pack extra as part of ours seem to go to feed the birds and ducks too). Horizon has these shelf stable things called Strawberry Bash and there are other flavors -- kind of like a yogurt. You can bag them if worried about exploding in your suitcase. Cheese crackers like goldfish, Annie's bunnies, cheez-its, etc. Plain mini bagels -- you can put into a box in your suitcase to avoid crushing and voila! -- more room for souvenirs. Snack bars like I think you mentioned. We found that with cereal, bagels, and yogurt, we were good with morning options.
