Hi there!
Im sure this has been asked a million times so Im sorry in advance!

I have 2 pin trader lanyards with pins that we are bringing with us to trade, so they are full of pins....

Can someone please let me know if I should put my lanyards into my bag that will be checked or onto my carry on?

Im thinking along the lines of Airport security here..

Thank you very much!

Put them in a carry on. Even have them in their own little ziploc type bag and take them out of the bag when they go on the scanner. It just makes it a great deal easier for them see what is sending off the 'metal alerts'. I wouldn't pack them in checked baggage because they routinely open any suspicious suitcase and if you can prevent someone from going through your personal things, it is worth it.

We just came back from WDW on 11/7. All of the pins I purchased as well as traded were in my carryon luggage (camera bag and computer bag). No one batted an eye at them, and I had no problems at all.

Leaving them in the luggage and you run the risk (though small) of them disappearing when the luggage is handled.

Something to think about.

Coming back from Orlando, they are so used to pins it wouldn't even cause special notice.

But even leaving out of BWI (which is the designated guinea pig for all new security devices and procedures), all they did was look through our pin bags and off we went. I think my laptop got more scrutiny.

Thanks to everyone for the replies!!
Im going to put my lanyards into a ziplock bag and put it right on top in my carry on, this way if they want to check it out they are right there.

Again, thanks for the help!

We went to Orlando in September and paid to 'have lunch with an astronaut' at Kennedy Space Center and the kids got a signed autographed pic of him. I put them in the suitcases so they would travel flat and they did not make it home. I don't think I will be able to get them replaced, either. Anything that is of value to you (not necessarily valuable) should travel with you in carry on.....and we won't forget that in the future.
