Pack or ship?

Is it better to ship or pack….We are doing the world this year on a tight budget and my son is a very picker eater so we will travel with food – the basics like fruit snacks and cereal bars, oatmeal, pbj and stuff but I would like to pack or ship some water as well – I can see myself packing a suitcase with all the dry items but how would I handle the water issue. Would it just be easier to pack a box of stuff, fed ex it and be done…

Do you have a rental car available to you? If so, just run down to the Publix and buy what you need. I also hear there is a grocery delivery service. I'm sure someone will be along with the name and I understand the price is reasonable. I would think shipping via FedEx would be costly on such a heavy item as water bottles.

Packages can get lost or delayed with Fed EX and UPS so be sure to allow extra time. If you have a car it would be easier to just pick up the items when you get here.

You could also use a shopping service like WeDoShop or FL Grocer? They will buy whatever you want and deliver it to your hotel room. Do a search, there have been many threads on this. As for shipping boxes, we usually do it because we don't like waiting for luggage. But we just ship clothes and a duffle bag to take it all home in.

One benefit to packing your dry goods on the way down is that you'll have extra space for souvenirs on the way home...always a good thing, at least for us! ::MinnieMo
