This is just comical. I am so glad I moved away from PA. However, I heard that you can now finally buy beer and wine in grocery stores.

IT WAS ELIOT NESS and the Untouchables, as played by the Keystone Kops.

More than a dozen armed State Police officers conducted simultaneous raids last week on three popular Philadelphia bars known for their wide beer selections. The cops confiscated hundreds of bottles of expensive ales and lagers, now in State Police custody at an undisclosed location.

Yep! Because when it comes to alcohol sales PA is in the dark ages.

Than maybe some clarification would have been helpful.

Sorry OP maybe I am projecting some people's bashing of PA and thier residents on you. Not fair, I need more caffiene this morning:flower3:

Are you kidding me? Wow, they have nothing better to do in PA then raid bars for beer? Not for underage drinking, not for drugs sells, not for gambling or anything "bad", but for unlicensed beers? Yeah, that really projects an image of a police force that is top notch. :sad2:

Out of all the bars in that state I find it rather funny that of the 3 bars that were raided, they were all owned by the same couple, and that fact that this all happened because of a tip from one person. :rolleyes1

Gee, I wonder who they ticked off lately? Maybe a fired employee, or some drunk they refused to serve? There is a back story here and that fact that the state police allowed themselves to be drug into it is pathetic. They should have been going after the distributors of the "unlicensed" beer since it is their responsibility to register it and pay the fee. The fact that the police didn't bother going after any other bar that sold these beers just smacks of something being dirty and not on the up and up.
