P&S recommendations?

I am planning a trip to the dark side and am thinking about a P&S for the trip. Universal has a policy of no bags on some of the rides which means checking anything that won't fit into your pockets in a locker. I really don't want to mess with lockers (or waste time waiting to get to them both before and after a ride).

So, a P&S seems like a good idea for this trip but I don't even know where to begin. :confused3 I love taking vacation photos and I'm worried that anything I won't be happy without my dslr. I'm hoping some of you have suggestions for both models and features I should look for to get the best quality photos I can.

TIA! pixedust:

Primarily, I'm not a P & S user, but I have two in the house that we use. I find it very difficult to recommend a P & S because of the volume of cameras out there. In the past year, Canon has introduced fifteen new P & S cameras, Casio has introduced 12 with 5 in the last month and that is only two of the manufacturers. I wouldn't know where to begin. I would make a list of my requirements, then look for reviews on websites like dpreview.com and then compare the ones that fit your criteria. Although, I shoot a Pentax DSLR's, we have had good luck with the Canon P & S'.

Thanks for the advice. My dslr is a Canon so I approve this recommendation. ;)
