I had posted a request for prayers and pixie dust for my mom and you all have obviously answered.

She had open heart surgery today and she was extremely brave and strong going in there. The operation was a long one but she is out and resting in the ICU. She had 2 bypasses done which involved a lot of torment to her body..so morphine-like medicine is her friend at this moment.

She has a long road ahead in in the hospital and a rehab center but it is so worth it; we know this saved her from having a massive heart attack.

Thank you so much disfriends for all of your P, PD, and support. You are fantastic. :grouphug:

Please keep us posted on how she is doing
will keep praying for her

thank you so much everyone!

Mom is doing well. They already had her up and moving between the chair and the bed in the icu. They were hoping to have her out of there (the icu) today, but due to alot of confusion that my mom is feeling (she kept trying to get up and "get ready to go home"), they want to keep her there a bit longer.

She is even already eating- not much, but we'll take it!

She's a heck of a fighter.

Thank you so much for the continued P&PD

We also thought it was a good sign! We're taking a break from visiting her today. We're hoping that will force her to sleep all day. I am just praying she won't be crying for us.

My mom absolutly hates being alone. I know she isn't technically. But she is normally calmer when my dad, my sister, or I am there. Actually, it was interesting to me that they were saying her blood pressure was high but when my sister and I were in the room just sitting with her, her blood pressure went down! (my husband said it was the medicine....I've never known a medicine to kick in in 5 minutes). Hopefully they'll call if she wants on of us there.

sleep is the best medicine - I hope they will call too. but you never know - I would call later in the day & check on her

you need a break too! won't help her if you all are beyond exhaustion!
the nurses will take care of her...ICU nurses are wonderful and dedicated!
not sure about the meds kicking in that quick....sure you all give her the calming feeling.

Continued PD for your Mom with her recovery.:goodvibes
