So surgery Aug 31 & not feeling well and the cold & the holidays put a little too much squish in my tush so I decided to start myself back up with P90 before the New Year. As I was digging through the black hole under my TV console I discovered a never before noticed P90 express fat burner next to regular p90 and thought, hey now, that's just what my tush needs.

So I just finished it and it wasn't so bad so I added the AB ripper portion from P 90. it's harder than regular p90 but easier than p90 x and all cardio, which I prefer. I just checked online because I wanted to know calories burned, I didn't find that info but what Idid find is claims it is supposed to be a quick start for losing 6 lbs in 6 days. I have no paperwork on this so I don't know if the makers say this too or not but here goes nothin... I can't be less healthy after a week so I might as well try it right. We'll see, fingers crossed.

Does anyone else have this and want to try with me or have any good stories about it working, I'm just wondering

Bumping because I can't believe I am the only one out there who has done this.

day 2 and I didn't weigh myself yet, I want to give it some time so I don't get discouraged. I will say I have been achy all day and needed both Advil & Aleve to be able to do this today. On the other hand, my Achilles tendon which has been bugging me doesn't hurt,I guess the stretches have helped:goodvibes

No experience with P90 but would love to know the answer - thinking about investing in this system! Thanks!

I lb of weight + 3500 calories
So are they (the P90x people) saying that you burn 3500 calories a workout?
Or are they combining that with diet?
Your very hardest workout is not going to burn more than 800 calories an hour -and that would be extreme. Working out getting your Heart Rate to almost maximum and keeping it there for the entire hour

I don't know how many calories I burned, but I am also restricting my diet closely. I love my fitness pal for this, its such a giant help to me.

My DH lost a total of 55 lbs on versions of this program, along with food changes so there is definitely some truth in it. I don't expect as much loss as him because I can't keep up but last time I was losing 1/2 lb a day.

I learned how to cook for DH so thats not too hard for me. I ate a lot of broiled fish and one egg on a sandwich thin a day at lunch time, so yummy. I'm only 5'1" and don't move much so my calorie intake is really low. how many calories does an average person burn in a regular day?

i'm anxious to read the outcome of your experiment.

i'm looking at getting the p90x or one of jillian micheals dvds.

also registered at fitday.com

thinking about joining weight watchers online, they're having a promo right now, register for the online membership (no meetings) for 3 mos, they waive the $29 sign-up fee. it's less than $20/month.

good luck!! and PLEASE update!!

Maybe you should post this over in the weight loss forum. Maybe someone over there has tried the system.

Well it sounds like you have found something that works for you.
I think the average person burns around 2000 calories a day -but that can vary a lot.
I think I burn less. I think even with exercise I am about 1500.
(I am tiny -short and small boned)
I have no doubt that P90x works -I just question the 6 lbs -6 days part.

I like the sandwich thins too! I sometimes have a turkey sausage and cheese sandwich for breakfast. Very filling and low cal!

Hi again. So far so good. I borrowed my husband's heart monitor and even with trying to slow down to keep my heart rate under 150 I burned 540 calories, then I walked around a bit and added in the AB rippers and dropped another 220 so YAY. I checked the scale before working out and I am slightly more than 1 lb lighter then on Tuesday morning. I was achy and needed an Aleve agin but less achy than yesterday so that's good I guess. Today I was so busy I forgot to eat but I didn't have any diet drinks so at least there is no migraine. In the middle of working out I whipped up some escarole and cannellini beans without oils and a squash quiche minus the cheese and crust made with egg beaters, I hope it's good. Dh teased me and said it wasn't a quiche then, just an omelette but I like the word quiche so it's staying LOL

i guess this could be moved to another board but considering its almost New Years and half the US will be promising to lose weight tomorrow night I figured here would an ok place to be for now. besides, this is where I tend to hang out.

Being short just generally stinks, I'm not overweight, I'm just under tall;)

LuvOrlando, not implying that it should be moved at all. I was wondering if there might be some over there who have tried the system. I know that the people use so many different systems for working out.

I love what you said about being short......umm under tall. That would describe me as well. Luckily six years ago I started exercising and working out and have been happily maintaining so I wish you well on your journey :yay:

Oh, OK sm4987, I guess I misunderstood... I do that a lot;) no worries:thumbsup2

BTW, DH was right, the squash is very yummy but way more omelette like than quiche like. Still, I'm working way too hard to give up the calories so omelette it is and each slice is only about 30 calories so I'm happy. I think I'll have either another egg sandwich or a ground chicken breast burger for dinner

I ended up just finishing up my omelette and having a few very yummy pretzel rods with mustard while watching the A-Team with the family.

Today I got on the scale and was down another pound which puts me with 3 days behind me and 2 lbs lost. Since I am the impatient sort I'm thrilled. My aches and pains are nearly gone but my second day of AB Busters has my middle a bit sore.

Today I am on a quest to make sure i bring healthy choices to a friend's New Years Eve party so I have good selections for myself. I wish I had some ideas

Fit day will tell you how many calories you burn in a sedentary lifestyle all the way to very active when you put your data in which I find very helpful. I just add to that number the calories I burn during my exercise and get a good grasp of what I can expect to lose. Of course my gimpy thyroid throws a wrench in my plans at times but it still gives me perspective anyway.
Good luck with your weight loss, that is awesome! I suffer from being undertall also ;)

I have the same problem too. Someone once jokingly called me vertically challenged.:lmao:

My dh is doing P90x and he says it is hard, but it seems to be whipping him into shape. I just started doing Jillian Michaels 30 day shred. That is a good workout too.
