OK, so I have about 30 years experience with a totally manual SLR and 5 years experience with a digital (little more than) point and shoot. Got the little digital guy to do a lot for me. Never use the auto.
So, we go out and buy our brand-spanking-new DSLR (D70S). I think, well, yeah, I can do this camera. The more I use it the more I realize I have A LOT to learn!!! Then I complicate things by buying the SB600 speedlight. I had 3 manuals out yesterday trying to figure out how these things work together!!!!
So, what is the point of this post??? Well, I guess if anyone has any tips on what settings they really like to use for the speedlight would be helpful. From what I gather, looks like "mode" TTL BL is used most often (at least that is what I gathered). Then, again from what I gather, after you take the pic, check the histogram for a good light distribution (even lighting-getting used to checking this now), and if it is over or under exposed, adjust the + or - button to compensate and re-shoot the pic. Am I on the right path?? Will more questions like this irritate anyone??
