I will be going to WDW as soon as I am able to get a reservation. Going for a week. Have a couple of questions. I am able to go off my oxygen for short periods, probably long enough to ride a short thrill ride. Is it safe to leave my oxygen concentrator on the scooter? If not how about instead of a baby swap we swap me? In other words I ride twice while someone stays back and watches the scooter. Also I will report back after my trip and let you know how it goes. Would be nice if others on oxygen could share their experiences and suggestions:).

If you plan to ride your scooter through the line and transfer at boarding, I think it would be fine to leave your oxygen there. I might be a little concerned leaving it further away (as in parking the scooter at stroller parking and walking through the queue), but most of the time it probably wouldn't be messed with. I just wouldn't take that chance.

As for "baby swap" with the oxygen tank -- I wouldn't expect that idea to work. Baby/child too short to ride is required, though on rare occasions people report being able to do this with an older child who simply chooses (or can't) ride, not not often. You'd be better off planning Fastpasses or something, ride the scooter to the loading area, and leave the oxygen there.

I also recommend you check-out post #30 of the disAbilities FAQ thread at the top of this forum. It is specific to use of oxygen at WDW and might give you some tips.

Enjoy your vacation!

Most of the rides you will be able to take the ECV to the loading area and leave it, a few you will have to transfer into a wheelchair and you can take your o2 and leave it in the chair. We have left items on our wheelchair and never had any trouble. On one of our trips a man had a compressor in a back pack at splash and the CM told him he could leave it against the wall near the CM and when we got off it was still there.
We leave items on our wheelchair and have never had anything happen ( except a bag of cotton candy went missing, but none of our medical gear). I would leave it with the scooter or a cm and not worry about it.

We too have never had a problem with leaving DDs O2 with her wc while she rode a quick ride. I never would leave it in an unsecured area such as stroller parking.

Since you asked for suggestions or experiences, I should add that we have left her POC at first aid for charging, and we have also left extra cylinders at first aid to lighten our load while we tour the parks.
