Ok, now I need the answer to a question. We own 200 SSR points - we want to purchase more, and are considering another resort on the resale market. We love Epcot Food and Wine and I am thinking maybe we want to purchase BCV or BWV -

SO my question is, if I have two home resorts, can I reserve my rooms at BCV or BWV with only those resort points if I want to reserve 12 months ahead - if I need to use any SSR points I would have to wait until 7 months ahead? Is this correct?

Someone with experience please clarify for me. THANKS!!!

It's 11 months out and yes, if you wanted to use points from both resorts you have to wait until the 7 mos windown opens.

Or borrow points from your next use year (if you have enough) to make the reservation at BCV or BWV.

You can book reservations for resorts where you own points at 11 months. The points are kept separate. If you own 200 BCV points and 200 SSR points, you can book a resi for 200 at BCV and a separate resi at SSR for 200. You can't combine the 200 and 200 and book 400 at BC. All other resorts at 7 months. Does this answer your question?

But you can do what we do. We have two smaller contracts (100 points each) and one larger contract. We use the VWL (100 pts) every two or three years, by banking, borrowing and using. So we have up to 300 points to work with. Then another year (or even the same) we do similar with our BCV points. We fill in the other years with our OKW points.

We have 150 each at wlv, bcv, and now akv. With borrowing and banking you can make the 11-month window go a long way.

Yes, my question has been answered! Thanks so much to all of you. Aren't Disney Lovers just the nicest people ever? So far I'm loving our DVC and am finding everything I heard about it is true.

Welcome to our little community on the DIS! Enjoy those points :goodvibes

Glad I stumbled upon this thread because DH and I were just talking about adding on and had the same exact question! We were wondering how the co-mingling of points and booking worked in that situation too. Thanks for the info.

Not to deviate from the thread, but is there someplace online that I can view pictures of the interior of the other vacation club rooms? Specifically BWV and BCV-we are fans of the F&W Festival too, but really just want proximity to Epcot in general.

There are lots of photos on this site. Here's a link to BCV Photos taken by DIS Members. I couldn't find the BWV photo section here.

And here's a link to BCV Photos and BWV Photos on Deb's site which have more interior photos.

Thank you soooo much! This was just what I was looking for to help us make a decision! ;)

I added on last year to our contract after only being owners for one year. We stayed at BWV and loved it. So added on through our guide. The only thing I would suggest is that if you buy resale, make sure you buy the same UY if you can. It helps keep record keeping and banking simple to understand (especially us newbies). We use our BWV points for booking our 2 week October trip during F&W and use our SSR points for our other 3 trips a year. The first year we bought in we banked our points, so have been using a resevoir of points each year. I know I'm in trouble if/when CRV starts selling, but hopefully that will be in a couple of years and all of my loans will be paid off.

The other suggestion is one you probably don't hear often enough:

EVERY time you make a ressie, take a few extra moments to have the MS CM go back over the transaction -- telling you exactly how many points were used, from which resort and use year, and how many are left. You can straighten misunderstandings out later, but it's much better to catch them right at the source.

For example, you don't want to bank BWV points to use at BWV next year and then have them used to fill an OKW ressie because banked points are supposed to be applied first.

Managing multiple contracts/resorts is doable, but you can't fall asleep at the switch.
