Thanks,

The deed will need to be retitled. Do a search and you might find the posts on how to do this.

If you call Disney, they can do it for you. Not the cheapest route, but probably the easiest. As previous poster said, there are instruction in a thread on how to do it yourself.

Anyone know how much it cost if u go through DVC?
I think it's $450. If it's a WDW contract, you can do it yourself for under $50 if you want. It'll have to be paid in full as well but in this case I suspect it is.

If you want to do it yourself, email DVC and ask them for the info. You'll get a packet (or email attachment) with instructions and a transfer form. Complete that and you'll get the waiver of ROFR along with a second transfer form. Record that and a quit claim deed with the county along with the tax form you'll find on Orange Co website. Send a copy of the recorded deed and second transfer form to DVC and you'll be set. Min cost around $40 for one contract last I looked (2 pg deed, 2 page ROFR and the min fee on the tax form).

I do not live in Fla. The process you listed can it be completed by fax from out of state?

You can fax to Member Admin (or email potentially) and you can snail mail to OC. All you really need otherwise is a quit claim template for FL and the legal description on your current deed.

Caveat, make sure you have 2 witnesses in addition to the notary. The notary can sign separately as a witness but it MUST be an additional signature in the appropriate location.

If you don't want to do it all yourself, LT transfers will do it for $102 including postage plus recording fees. I'm not sure if they will do the ROFR, you may still have to do that. They do not to title insurance or escrow. If you need those services, JRA will do that for $275 plus recording. Timeshare Transfers will do it for $300 and include $50 or recording fees.

Dean--can you tell me who timeshare transfers is and how to reach them? I got the info from DVC about removing my exs name and the company they told me to use was First American but it is at minimum 450$. (The contract is paid off) I am not comfortable doing it myself. any advice and names/numbers would be great. thank you!

If you don't want to do it yourself, I'd use LT transfers http://www.lttransfers.com . You may have to do the first step yourself which is filling out the transfer form, sending it to DVC and then getting the ROFR; I'm simply not sure. It'll cost you about $150 total. Timeshare Transfers will be around $300
