Kudos to the guys for this one!

I have been toying with the idea of trying an Owner's Locker for a couple of years. This year was the year I bit the bullet.

Several of us came down to BWV for a visit this week -- still here, as a matter of fact, freezing our tushes off! Anyway, one of us drove down, so I put a box together of things that I wanted in my OL and asked my friend to bring it in his car.

The box was packed pretty full, over full, to be exact.

When I was at the airport after having just landed, I received a text message on my phone that my locker was waiting for me at the BWV.

I got to the villas and checked in and received my locker, took it to my room, opened the box that my friend brought down for me, and proceeded to put everything in the locker. The locker is only half filled! It holds an incredible amount of things.

My luggage has never been lighter since I did not have everything that I usually cart back and forth. This is definitely going to be a keeper!

Thanks for the service. I'm looking forward to being a regular user...

We are huge fans of OL (the people & the service). Glad you had a positive experience.

BTW, I think addonitis applies to Owners Locker as well as DVC :confused3 IDK for sure but we are contemplating a second :rolleyes1

Owner's Locker is a great thing, isn't it? I can't believe how much can fit in it, and it makes packing/planning for WDW so much easier! I don't know how I survived pre-OL.

Is there any service like this in Anaheim? I'm pretty sure the answer is no but I thought I'd ask all you knowledgable folk in case ;)

We've been in DVC and OL for just over a year and love it. OL service is excellent.:earsboy:

Using the OL is like buying DVC points at a DVC resort. One is not enough.

These purple boxes are huge, but we find ways to fill ours up. We even know some folks that don't bring any bags at all, they keep everything needed for their vacations in their lockers.

:) Bill

I read somewhere that ol rents night goggles for viewing akl animals tru? false?

I am SOOOOOOO going to get one of these this year! :thumbsup2 My favorite color too. :thumbsup2:thumbsup2 It's a BRILLIANT thing!

I was doing a search because I've seen the thread somewhere, I'm just inept at searching. Does anyone know where a thread on what people put in their lockers is? I haven't read through the everday adventures... thread yet. ;)

AHHHH. Found something.

If it doesn't spoil, and if you don't need it or want it before your next trip it goes in the OL. :earsboy:

I read somewhere on the dis that you can rent night binoculars and have them delivered with your OL....anyone know anything about this?

I packed my ol last trip so this trip I will get to reap the benifits of packingless.....way less I am hoping;)

I had heard of this as well about a year ago....since then i had 2 threads asking this question, and received no positive answer. I'm guessing that they don't rent them. Someone please correct me if im wrong (and i hope i am :thumbsup2 )

I do think that Owners Locker has spotting binoculars available, but I'm not sure they are night vision.

You might want to contact OL directly to inquire about what they might have available for your stay. :)

We only have 1 locker but my official content list has about 120 things on it - similar to Tara's list but obviously, not QUITE as much stuff since she has 2 lockers. We stay in studios so I keep things to make life easier there...extra paper plates, more plastic silverware, coffee filters, microwavable bowls with lids, ice cube tray, blue ice for our collapsible cooler, set of sharp cutting knives & scissors, plastic cups to carry to the pool, straws & wine glasses. Also of course, toiletries for all, flip flops, beach/pool bag, string backpack, extra batteries, spray fan bottles, flashlights, ponchos & mini umbrellas, various sunscreens & OTC meds, Captain Morgan....

We may not get to use ours much tho over the next 2 years so I'm a little disappointed with that. We are planning to try HHI this summer and booked a Med cruise for summer 2011 and then may do Ko'Olina in 2012. I HOPE maybe we can squeeze in some sort of a quickie trip SOMETIME here & there tho. I do hate the idea of not getting our use out of it for possibly 2 whole years! I wish there was a way to save unused visits... But I KNOW I will surely miss not having it on these other trips!!! John - can you hear this conversation I will have with DH? "But we NEEEEED to plan a trip to WDW so we can get our money's worth out of our OL this year"!:rotfl:

Hey Huncle....
We've played around with spotting scopes (not night vision) and have not really been satisfied. We're big believers in doing things right if we're going to do it. We've tested spotting scopes...and while folks really like them, we haven't been able to figure out a way to easily mount them on a balcony railing. The scopes come with a small tripod but with the balcony rails do get in the way.
We haven't given up on them but I must admit that they're currently on the back burner.
I do think Jambo and Kidani have night vision goggles that they let guests pass around in the public viewing areas.
