Owners Locker question

After our last trip this weekend, I'm now officially sold on the OL, but I have a question. After trying to haul everything there this trip, I'd rather ship it down to OL headquarters, and have them set it up in an OL for me, which I could then have delivered when we arrived in July (and then finish stocking it when we are down there). Has anyone done this, or do I have to wait til I bring everything down there first? Thanks!
 
I wouldn't think that they would want to touch your stuff, liability issues and all. It's real easy to ship to your resort and pack the OL yourself.

I seriously doubt they would do this but even if they did, there would surely be an extra charge. The whole point of the locker is that you control the security by using the locking ties - if they load up your locker, then you don't have control of it and it puts them in a bad position as they have no recourse if you say something is missing.

First of all, I'm glad we are making sense for you and we look forward to having you as one of our Members! I know you'll find having a Locker makes your vacations much more convenient.

Now, about filling your Locker. The other posters are right. We have a pretty strong preference about folks shipping stuff to us. Our main concern is that it puts us in the middle if things get damaged in the shipping process. We usually suggest that folks ship stuff directly to their resort. If, however that is a problem for some reason, let's have a discussion about liability and you can ship stuff to us and we will deliver it along with your Locker for your first Visit. And, no, we won't charge you extra for it. once you join owner's locker, we know you're going to be a Member for a long time.

I do have a problem with unpacking a box shipped to us and putting it in your Locker. I'd much rather deliver both the package and the Locker to you and let you unpack it. It may sound silly, but I'm a big privacy nut. And I really, really don't want to see in people's Lockers.

We mailed a package to ourselves at the resort. I sent is UPS on a Tuesday and it arrived at the resort the Friday following. It was waiting for us when we arrived at the resort the next Wednesday. We just put the things in our locker ourselves on check-out day. When addressing the package, you just put your name, Guest arriving on (date) and then use the address of the resort. You can call the resort to get the correct mailing address. It was so easy that I am planning on doing the same thing in September to add some additional items to our locker.
 
Thanks everyone, for the great replies. I never thought about the liability issues. I guess I'll just UPS a box to Boardwalk, like we did last year, but pack the Owner's Locker with everything we have left at the end of our trip. Gwen
 
We also shipped everything to our resort that was going in our OL. I think UPS charged us around $30. I did hear that Disney is now charging for packages shipped to the resorts. :confused:
 
The last I heard is that IKON, Disney's new contracted vendor who processes packages at the conference resorts, BCV, BWV, and BLT is charging the fee.
