Hi all,

We have our first stay in February, and I signed up for Owners Locker based on the great feedback here. I was wondering if anyone had been able to pre-fill their locker by maybe ordering from Amazon and having it sent to the Owners Locker HQ and they fill the locker before you arrive and use it the first time.

I figure it's a long shot, I didn't run across anything on their site, but it would be certainly helpful. A vast majority of what is on the lists of people here as to what they keep in their locker I could have shipped over in one order.

I may just have to contact them, but thought that at least if I ask here it may help someone else in the future that tries searching for the answer (I tried and went back a few pages of results but didn't see it).

I’m not sure they can do that. Amazon boxes are sometimes way bigger than your ordered items and, even when I select the option for them to ship multiple items together, I always get multiple boxes. The owners locker fills up super fast and then they may have to charge you for multiple lockers. I could be wrong though. It does sound convenient. I would give them a call. It could be a service they can do and charge people for.

Ah yeah, you bring up a good point too of the boxes. In my mind I had them just taking things out of the Amazon package and putting into the crate, but that probably opens them up to liability issues they don't want to risk. I will call and find out though and report back!

We started building our owners box at home, using a doubled-up cardboard moving box from Home Depot that's slightly smaller than the volume of an OB. We just add things as we think of them and will take it with us as a checked baggage item on our trip in February.

So as long as I keep the box around the size of a normal checked luggage they should be okay with it? I thought about checking one of our large bags for this, but was hoping to avoid bringing back a likely empty suitcase the other way. May be a simple thing, but I have never checked anything but a normal rolling suitcase.

Correct. The airline will have maximum dimensions and weight listed on their website (LxWxH).

What is Delta Airlines' (DL) checked baggage / hold luggage policy?
Delta Airlines' (DL) standard checked baggage / hold luggage policy details follow:

  • 2 bags standard, up to 10 bags maximum (up to 4 bags on Delta Connection)
  • Maximum dimensions: 62 inches or 157 centimeters (length + width + height).
  • Maximum weight: 50 pounds or 23 kilograms.

An owners locker is 13x20x22, or 55”.

Just use one of the grocery services to have your staples delivered to your resort and you can load them into the Owners Locker when you get there.

They may not be talking about food - they may be talking about items like coffeepots, blankets, cooking tools, and other equipment that many keep in their OLs. We brought a bunch of stuff from home!

I don't get it. Instead of trying to have amazon ship to Owner's Locker Headquarters, why don't you just have amazon ship to you at the hotel? Or buy in your home town and ship to yourself at the hotel. (Assuming you can't take it on the plane.)

That may also work, I have not stayed at DVC before, February will be our first time staying at a DVC resort. I have read you can do grocery delivery and that, but wasn't sure what if any line there was on getting things sent from Amazon or whatever to the hotel. Maybe that's the question I should have asked, I dunno. If the resort is fine accepting Amazon packages for someone staying there that may be a good avenue. My only concern with that is that not everything from Amazon arrives in two days anymore. I have a couple orders that haven't even shipped and I placed the order a couple days ago. Ideally I would have everything on one end or the other.

Another thing I considered was just doing a Shipt Target order, probably the easiest and most sure of all since I am not ordering anything too off the wall that shouldn't be easily found at Target.

Anyway, probably just overthinking it overall.

Yeah exactly, I like the idea of having first aid kit stuff, water filter, some kid specific reusable (and spill proof) cups, stuff like that.

If all else fails, you can always take rideshare to Target or Walmart and pick out what you need!

Yeah, probably about the same or even less overall hassle than boxing up stuff at home and checking it with Delta and all that. Was good to explore options and I appreciate everyone giving input and ideas. We have only been to WDW once (end of 2019) in about 20 years, so I think I am making more of the situation than I need to, not like we are going to the middle of the ocean or something.

Thanks all!

Like others have said, you can always take an Uber/Lyft to Walmart or Target. Alternatively, you can order via Amazon and have it delivered to an Amazon Locker near your hotel. I’ve done this a few times. Just look on Amazon’s site for the nearest locker location. Then take the rideshare to the Amazon locker.

Vulnox, it is nice to see your excitement about your upcoming stay.
Just wondered if you noticed how small the dimensions are of the Owner's Locker. As someone stated, they fill up fast. A lot of people keep their Disney clothes in them, in addition to specific coffee maker, personal toiletries, etc. I don't know how they get all that in that small space!
Have a great trip. Which DVC resort are you at for your first stay? Do you have kids?
