we have to zip tie ours because the ones provided do not keep the top down (we overstuff our OL)! Therefore we have to bring something to cut the zip ties whenever we go down. I know that we don't need the ones provided that have the numbers on them... we trust the company completely.

Recently, it was announced that owners locker was going to begin offerring locks that work on the boxes for those who would prefer a lock instead of just the plastic ties. I do not know when that will actually begin.

Yes, but it takes a padlock with a long shackle. We have 2 combination padlocks with 2.5" shackles that work fine (one for each locker) and, as drusba noted, OL will begin offering those for sale to their members soon.

FWIW bell services will cut the ziplocks for you when they deliver the OL to your resort.

OL are already offering the locks for sale for $7.50 each as per the email they sent recently. If you want to buy them you just need to add the request to the notes section when you book your visit
