Owners Locker Fun

For all of you who have an OL.

My DW and I always look for ways to keep the "Magic" alive until we can come back home again. Here is something we did with our OL when we were at WDW last month.

Before we sealed up the OL, we each went out individually and purchased a small gift for each other. We then wrapped them up and placed them inside the OL and sealed it up.

Now, when we go back this October, we each have a nice little surprise waiting for us. A surprise we have been thinking about all year long. Okay, maybe a little corny but we have fun with it!

Wow! I LOVE this idea! I will try to find something on this trip to pack for my girl friend, who will be on my Dec. trip and another for my niece, who will be on a later Dec. trip. Thanks for sharing!

I love your idea! DH and I are going for a weekend in November, but returning with the kids for Christmas. I'm adding that to my list of "things to do" in November - buy something small and special for the kids and put it in the locker for December! Thanks for the idea.

This idea isn't corny, it's cute, and I like it! DH and I are going to try it when we go at Christmas. Since we are coming back in March, we only have to wait 3 months for our gifts!

For our non-DVC timeshare we have a memories journal that stays in our member's storage area. Each trip we log dates, who came with, and then each person writes one page of specific trip events or memories. The first few years it seemed almost silly, but now it is a treasure! We do not have an Owner's Locker yet, but when we get one it will be the first thing I am putting in it! And since DVC is not fixed, I would log which resort and room type, too.

We also have a travel Scrabble game and we write the dates and location when we play on the outside cover. That thing has been around the world and back; the cover is almost filled so it will soon be time to buy a new one!

I really like the gift idea, too!

I'm also very satisfied with my Owner's Locker. The best thing I have in it is a Brita jug. The tap water is so awful in the Orlando area. I can't tell you how wonderful it is to have cold, clean-tasting water right in my room without having to buy bottled water. After a day of being out in the heat, having a big, big glass of cold water is great.

I agree 100% - isn't it amazing how much better that water tastes from the Brita?

These are some really great ideas - so far our OL has been purely functional - though I have to admit, even without presents, my OL is like a big box o' fun!
