WE are getting an OL this trip. Want to bring things down. It is also our first trip with DVC. Want to store coffee filters and coffee but not sure what filters to get? Any ideas? Are all places different. Our home is AKV-K.

Hi we have a OL and are dvc members we love it! At SSR we find they provide us with all the coffee filters and coffee we need. I even ran out last trip and they bought so much to the door ( but it was our last night ) so I put the remaining ones in the locker. I would save the room for other things! I think they were the standard mr coffee size though.

No they supplied that as well. I thought we would buy some in walmart when we got there if it was awful ( from the UK so weight restrictions on luggage ) but the coffee was fine! Also we got a refillable mug and you get tea/coffee with that as well. This was also fine. Being british I did however bring our own tea lol. But actually in SSR they had twinings tea ( considered a good tea in the UK ) with the refillable mug also :-) so I being a drama queen ...:-)

Ha no, I completely understand! Great to know they supply the coffee, too. I figure we will leave our refillable cups there, too. Bringing the hot cocoa though since the kids don't drink coffee...yet!

We placed an order through Walmart to fill our locker. If you spend $25, the shipping is free. We got shampoo, sunscreen, laundry detergent, etc. It saved us from having to use that space in our suitcases.

We rent a car and do our own shopping. You can also ship a box to the resort with supplies for the locker.

:earsboy: Bill

When we decided to join OL, we found a cardboard box that was almost exactly the same size and shape as the OL. That way we could make sure everything we bought fit and then we shipped it all to the resort instead of paying and extra baggage fee on our airline.

They are the regular kind. My dad tends to drink a lot of coffee in the morning, so one trip, we went to walmart and got more. We keep it in the locker, along with the filters, no biggie. I will say, if you do choose to keep your coffee in there, make sure you put them in a really good zip-lock bag... or you'll have coffee scented everything next time you open you're locker :)

Yes we left our mugs there. Good idea!

FYI on the coffee filters... I just went to Target and bought one of those permanent basket type filters to leave in the locker. I use the cone shaped permanent ones at home, and I find the paper filters tend to lose shape and fall from the sides getting grounds into your coffee. The permanent ones are much cleaner.

We too purchased our items ahead and took a few things from home (clothing) that we wanted to store in our locker. We just used a box about the same size and had it shipped down so it was there when we arrived.

LOVE our Owner's Locker!:goodvibes I just wish I could take it to Aulani with me in February!

Please may I ask how did you place an order with Walmart? I am from the UK so not familiar with how it works. Do I need to be a resident of the US or could anyone do this for their arrival? Sounds great! We do have online grocery shopping here that delivers its very good.

www.walmart.com to address of whatever dvc you're staying at

There are also shopping services you can find threads about wegoshop and another one I'm blanking on -- perhaps gardengrocer? Someone will come along in a moment to correct me.

Yep, just go to Walmart.com! If you see the logo next to the product that says "home free," it's included in the free shipping. We started our stay at Art of Animation, so there was no fee, but I've heard the DVC resorts charge a $10 fee to pick up a package. I can't confirm this though, since our package wasn't sent to a DVC resort.

Wow, that hasn't happened for us!

We buy the filters (so so cheap) at Publix, and buy our own coffee too (we like nicer coffee).

Now, we don't have an Owner's Locker at this time, so we cart the filters back and forth to Washington State. :)

Thank you! I will find out re fee. Still might be worth it as its a long flight from the UK and how nice to have it all arrive with the locker for our arrival! Good tip!

It was perfect for us as we needed diapers, wipes, and other baby supplies as well as everything for the adults and older kids. Even with the fee I think it would be worth it. Enjoy!

Yes I think the fee is worth it for us. Just checked it out at walmart.com and its perfect. We need a gps also and its the same to buy one as to rent one so we are going to buy one through walmart and keep it in the locker! That way when we return its paid for itself!

We just got our first locker in November this year, and we did exactly the same thing! Love knowing that for our NYE trip it'll be there waiting for us. Makes packing a lot easier for sure!

They only charge $10 for convention hotels...for DVC that means BWV and any other hotels that have a convention space. We have shipped to AKV and VWL without any charges since they do not have convention spaces.

Make sure you go to the Disney Resorts board and read their sticky on shipping to your resort for the correct address, and not using USPS, etc.
