We are heading to WDW in 11 days and are trying to figure out what to do about the stroller situation. On our previous trips, when the older boys were young, we brought our own stroller which reclined so they could nap when they needed to. DH hated folding it up to take on the buses. Last time we went, the boys were 4 & 6 and we rented the double stroller in each park. This trip, we have 3 boys and they are 2 1/2, 6 and 8. DH wants to rent in the parks. We don't plan to go back to the room for naps for DS2, so I want to bring our stroller from home that reclines so he can nap on the go. Can he nap in the rental stroller? Will he be comfortable? Will the older boys need to take a break in a stroller at their ages? Any help is greatly appreciated!!!

Thanks!

While I haven't been to Disney with kids - here are my thoughts -
Bring your stroller from home - you will need it for the airport if flying.
Your 2.5 year old will be more comfortable in the stroller you have than renting the big one from Disney. your older boys can rest when you get icecream - or when you ride a ride. AND... you will probably want that stroller for the hotel -

Since your DH is willing to spring the money for a stroller rental, look into a Maclaren Volo. Ebay usually has some deals, or you might be able to get a used one cheap on craigslist. It doesn't recline, but my DD has never ever had a problem sleeping in one. They're super light, very easy to fold, and they have a shoulder strap which makes it very easy to carry. Just a thought

Good idea but something in 'his way of thinking' that would prevent him from buying a new stroller when we have one. Our stroller is pretty light as it is, but I just think that he doesn't want to fuss with it in line for buses, etc. But, with fireworks and things at night, it is so much easier to transport the sleeping toddler through the gates to transportation in a stroller than in someone's arms.

That's how I feel! DH can give DS6 a piggyback ride if he really wants to give him a break :rotfl: The problem is that our neighbors are going and meeting us one day and they are renting a double for their twins that are 6. So DH thinks our DS6 needs one.

LOL, darn "man" logic! Well, in "mom" logic, then HE has to carry your DS when he's tired! :lmao:

I do think you need your own stroller though, I have a 2.5 year old, I know how they are. :goodvibes

I would definitely bring your own stroller for a 2.5 yr old. If you're flying, you'll need it for the airport anyway.

The rental strollers don't recline, so I can't see how that would be very comfortable for napping. We brought our Peg Aria for DS, who is 3.5. He napped in it every day. Well, every day until he got the stomach flu and hurled all over the stroller. :scared1: Then we bought the umbrella stroller that Disney sells to use for the rest of our trip. It also reclines, so DS was still able to nap in it.

We've always brought our own stroller. It just seems much easier when you're leaving the parks with tired little ones, plus, it's easier to keep track of them in the big crowds at the end of the night.

we went to disney in march and i rented a stroller from magicstrollers.com and they were wonderful. stroller does recline, has cup holders, and was tall enough for me and my husband. and it also came with a thing that you could pull over the child if it rained. it is cheaper than anything else i found and its like a mini jogger stroller. i rented one for my 4 yr old cause i didnt want to have to worry with traveling with the stroller. it does fold so you can get it on the buses you just have to get your stuff out before you fold it so it doesnt fall out everywhere. so i would vote to rent and it was super super clean! they will deliver it to your resort and you just leave it at the resort drop off time is 2:00 pm. hope this helps and have fun!
