Owensboro, Ky - Do You Know it?

Just wondering if anyone is familiar with Owensboro, KY?

Are there any Kentucky Wesleyan College alumnis out there?

I judged some boxing matches in Owensboro, KY, a few years ago. I ate at a good BBQ place named Moonlight BBQ. I live about 5 hours from Owensboro, so don't much else about it.

Know exactly where Owensboro is. In fact we lived there for two years and my youngest DD was born there. We enjoyed the Moonlite, too. It's about 2 to 2 1/2 hours from where we live now.

I live there now! Born and raised here in Owensboro....lived in Orlando for a few years on my own, but I love it here so now I am back.

I know this place like the back of my hand (for the most part!) In fact I know a lot of those players in that game on ESPN last night...that firstbase player (megan), she was my neighbor when I was little (okay, well her family was, I remember when she was born!) and that pitcher Cory, I know his mom pretty well.

And speaking of KWC, I just enrolled there...decided it might be time to go back to college and get another degree....so I guess you might say Im a future KWC alumni

So yeah! Go Owensboro! This thread title got me all excited

Being the NASCAR fan that I am, I know the Waltrips, Greens and Jeremy Mayfield are all from Owensboro, Ky.

I live at Ft. Campbell Ky but defintely know where Owensboro is. My Dh and I try to pick a new place to explor once a month and this was #5 on our list. We enjoyed the nice town.

I see that everyone who knows Owensboro knows Moonlite BBQ. It is the best BBQ on earth.

Jungle skipper...enjoy KWC it's a great school. I graduated from there and spent 6 years living in Owensboro.

My DH and I are headed back there next spring for a reunion.

It's been awhile since I've been there I'm sure there are alot of changes. I wonder if Riverview is still there?

While Moonlite is a wonderful restaurant...my personal favorite is Old Hickory..they dont have the buffet, but I like the BBQ better there. I highly reccommend it to anyone who comes to town.

I grew up in a tiny little town called Central City about 45 minutes away from Owensboro and several of my high school friends went to KWC. Some were cheerleaders and a few played basketball. I love Moonlight and The Briar Patch! Spent a few nights at The Boiler Room when I would come home and visit from college. I still try to get there for the bbq festival.

Yeah, agree with Jet88, Owensboro seems to be a hotbed for race car drivers.

All I know about Owenbourough is that 3 racers came from there and they are all brothers. Tommy Nicky and Roger Lee Hayden Tommy and Roger Lee ride for the factory Kawasaki team in the AMA and Nicky rides for the Repsol HRC factory Honda team in Moto GP.
