I had a knee replacement in October 2007 and was in a wheelchair for the following 10 months. Needless to say, I have very little muscle in my calves.
We went to Dorney Park on Thursday, which is built on a hill. I haven't done that much walking since before my knee surgery. My calves are killingggggggggggg me! Before they were all flabby, but now they're nice and toned.

Anyway, anyone have any advice to deal with the pain? I've been taking ibuprofen, but I'm not sure if ice or massages would help. It's been so long since I've used those muscles that much that I forgot how to treat sore muscles! :rotfl:

Bengay and hot compresses. the latter increases blood flow to the area and removes lactic acid efficiently. at least its worked for me good luck xD

Laying down and sleep usually work.
I've been walking all week and I have the sorest hip bones ever.
My mother has sore feet.

I'm really out of shape.

As much as it may hurt stretching out your muscles may help you. Also heat may soothe them.
I feel your pain though I really over did the lunges and squats yesterday haha.
Hope your legs feel better soon :]

ita.

when you are building muscle you need to stretch before and after you work out, or go to an amusement park in your case xD

p.s. OT:
was dorney fun? i've never been there!
all fall sports are going for 'bonding' later this summer
im so excited :D

What sometimes helps me is to just take a hot shower and stretching out what ever is sore in there.

I'm so sorry your hurting tho. I'm in the same boat. Right now, my arms hurt like insane crazy. I think I may have pulled a muscle in both of them last night...:headache:

O-well.

Hot baths help.

And hot compresses, those work wonders.

I'm constantly injuring some part of my legs from dance, so I feel your pain!

Use a heat compress to loosen them up. Then stretch them out a lot while they are still loose from the heat, so it won't hurt as much. Then continue heating.

And take ibprofen as needed too.
