This is our first trip to WDW and we have the free dining. I am trying to figure out where to make our ADRs. I have all boys..5,11,15 and 37 year old. i have been reading like crazy but still not sure what to pick. I am trying to plan this with one day tickets, not hopper. So far this is what I have.....

Sun.-Oct.11 Magic Kingdom--Chef Mickey's for late dinner
Mon.- Oct.12 Animal Kingdom--??
Tues.- Oct.13 Epcot--???? Plus it is my birthday! :)
Wed.- Oct. 14 Beach Day
Thurs.- Oct. 15 Hollywood Studios--50s Primetime Cafe
Friday. Oct. 16 Magic Kingdom---Tony's

I really need some suggestions for Monday and Tuesday. Also I wonder how my other picks sound...are they any good. Thanks for any suggestions!!

I would call since you are beyond the 90 day time period - but just barely! You never know whats available!

I always check the menus at allears.net to see what foods look good to my family! For my kids many times this will include buffets - Prime Rib and chicken nuggets!! (not to mention the dessert choices - make your own ice cream sundaes!!)

Animal Kingdom - there is a Yak and Yeti, but our family doesnt like this food, (Asian - you can go to the dining reviews and use the search and look at pictures of food as well!!) We usually head over to Animal Kingdom Lodge and look at the animals there and eat at Boma - its a buffet - and dh loves, loves soup - so we do this buffet for him, but again it has some exotic spices in some of their foods - and the latest report was no more prime rib... maybe take a bus over to DTD and try Wolf Gang Pucs!!

EPCOT - cant go wrong anywhere - from the France Chef de France, Japan has the benihana type restaurant - Le Cellier in Canada is the most coveted hard to get adr steaks fabulous - and tell them its your birthday!! :goodvibes Coral Reef is also very good - and the kids will enjoy eating in front of the Aquarium!! Great Steaks and Seafood!! (DD loved this place!)

Beach Day - maybe a resort restaurant? Polynesian has Kona Cafe or their Ohana gets great reviews!! (all you can eat food brought to your table on skewers!)

any place - its DISNEY!! :woohoo:

It is very overwhelming! I'll try to help

For Animal Kingdom, you could do a couple of things. Tusker House has a good character breakfast, can't comment on lunch or dinner. Yak and Yeti was really good, worth the trip to have the wonton dessert. OR, you could wait until you leave the park and go over to Animal Kingdom Lodge for dinner at Boma. We enjoyed the buffet, but it is different! Be sure to read the menus to see if it appeals... Not sure where you are staying, but it is a lovely resort!

Epcot has a ton of choices! Italian (Tutto ITalia) Japanese (Teppan Edo) Steak, (Le Cellier) Mexican (San Angel) etc... Think about what style of food sounds good, and then read those reviews. For your birthday, I'd make sure you like it. I wouldn't go for Coral Reef, the atmosphere is AWESOME, but the food is lacking....

As for Magic Kingdom, Tony's does not get good reviews. Crystal Palace is okay, but your guys may not be into Pooh.... Ohana is GREAT if you are meat lovers, a quick monorail ride over to the Polynesian. It does run a little behind on ADR's, and takes time from your MK day, though. Plaza gets good reviews, but it is a burger and fries kind of place.

Not sure when your 90 day mark is, but it seems like it should be pretty soon. I would decide quickly, because your options may be limited!

My suggestion for Mon. is to go to AKL and eat dinner at Boma.
Tues. at Epcot try for LeCellier but they fill up fast. We also enjoy Rose & Crown and Chefs de France. And on Friday-MK day, I would take the monorail over to the Poly and eat at Ohana. I am not a fan of Tony's. Hope that helps.

I also suggest going to Boma on Monday, Oct. 12. We always go to Boma at AKL on the day we visit Animal Kingdom. We get to the park around 10 and then make our reservations between 5:30 and 7:00. Boma has lots of different foods for everyone and we found it fun to try some new things. We also love to walk around the resort. It's fun to visit and see all the animals and talk to the people working there. They are a wealth of knowledge about everything. Enjoy your upcoming trip!

There is a 9:10 adr for CM for Sunday I'd grab it.....:goodvibes

OOHHH also a 2:30 for Lecellier or your Epcot day!

Be ready to be flexible with your Chef Mickies/Magic Kingdom day as Chef Mickies fills up fast.

We love the Biergarten at Epcot, easy to get ADRs for, we've even done a walkup with little waiting. Very fun and good food. But, now that I think about it, the Cape May Cafe buffet dinner (in the Beach Club resort) is AWESOME, and you can walk there from the International Gateway in the World Showcase. They would probably do better with your birthday too. Coral Reef is yummy too, in the Seas pavillion. You could also try for Le Cellier though it is very tough to get ADRs for and they do not take walkups.

Animal Kingdom dining choices are not the greatest. Consider planning a late evening dinner somewhere else since AK closes early anyway (though I don't know if that day is an EMH day or not). If you decide to eat somewhere else, Ohana at the Polynesian is excellent, and great for boys, lots of meat! Or, come to think of it, pop over to the AK lodge and eat at Boma, excellent buffet and you can go back to AK easily after dinner.

You could even do Ohana at the Poly on your 2nd MK day - just go over on the monorail, I have never tried Tony's but Ohana gets much better reviews.

Have fun! Good luck with your ADRs, call with a plan and have 2nd choices handy in case your first choices don't pan out.

We never eat at AK for some reason, we usually go to POLY, Kona Cafe is a Great place and they do a torch ceremony each nite (free) great kids ice cream dessert too.
Ohana is also fun...big skewers of foo, lady sings and does hula....another good one at the poly!
We like LTT at MK actually, this will be first without characters, but yummy food (just like thanksgiving) and raucous atmosphere not serene.
We also like Pecos Bills for lunch in MK, good fixings bar and great wraps too!
In Epcot, we do LeCell each visit, and this time we're trying Teppan Edo, I would not do Mexico, as food is limited selections/types and not typical....

Have a great trip,. most importantly, BOOK those meals and soon as you can, you can always change, but with free dine, you do not want to be eating burger/fry fast food each day because you can't get in anywhere, been there , done that, and it is not fun! UGH!

Bets of luck and have an amazing trip!

Sun.-Oct.11 Magic Kingdom--Chef Mickey's for late dinner-Spotty reviews, How about Crystal Palace or monorail over to Poly-Kona (our fav) or 'Ohana (many like all the meat!) There's an ADR open at 8 p.m. at CP

Mon.- Oct.12 Animal Kingdom-Boma at AKL or eat CS and use extra TS another day-maybe an early entry breakfast-you could do this at Tuskers breakfast (we did Tuskers for dinner, not so great but plan on trying breakfast this year.)

Tues.- Oct.13 Epcot--???? Plus it is my birthday! :) So many choices. Tutto Italia, Tokyo Dining, Teppan Edo, Le Cellier, Rose and Crown, or Biergarten I checked at 6 p.m and got a few of them available. Teppan Edo, Tokyo Dining, Les Chefs, etc. If you look for other times I'm sure you'll have a nice selection.

Wed.- Oct. 14 Beach Day-Raglan Road or Wolfgang Puck at DTD. Or Kona at Poly

Thurs.- Oct. 15 Hollywood Studios--50s Primetime Cafe good choice

Friday. Oct. 16 Magic Kingdom---Tony's Not one we cared for but we thought it was pricey-not a problem when on DDP. Or monorail over toThe Wave at Contemporary or one of the TS at GF.

Sorry, I probably just confused you more! :rotfl2: We've used DDP 5 times now and are returning for our 6th in less than 6 weeks. Any more questions, just ask!

You guys rock!!! Thanks everyone for some great advice!! I have changed ressies several times just today!! Here is the break down so far....

Sunday Oct. 11 Magic Kingdom--Chef Mickeys
Monday Oct. 12 Animal Kingdom--Ohana's
Tuesday Oct. 13 Epcot--Cape May Cafe
Wednesday Oct. 14 Beach Day--Frenchy's on Clearwater Beach
Thursday Oct. 15 Hollywood Studios--Primetime 50's Cafe
Friday Oct. 16 Magic Kingdom---Kona Cafe
Sat. Oct. 17 Breakfast at Boma's

I am pretty happy with these... I think. I hope I am not making a mistake by not eating at any of the restaurants in Epcot. I know everyone loves Le cellier but the menu didn't really appeal to me that much--although it sounds like something dh would really enjoy. I like Italian and Mexican. I am afraid the Mexican restaurant will taste like Elchicos.

I am still checking out some other suggestions at the other resorts. I could possibly change Kona Cafe, Cape May Cafe or Boma's. I need to read up on the different breakfast options. We won't have any tickets to get into the park on Sat. so it will have to be something at not in the parks.

You made some really good choices. I know - it is hard not to second guess yourself - I do it every time! No matter what, you will have a wonderful time. :)

Yum Breakfast at Boma was my favorite breakfast on our trip last Nov.
Great choice and neat atmosphere :)

Looks like good options! Epcot is hard to figure out... so many wonderful choices. A lot might be more booked because of food & wine, as well as extended free dining... if you do change anything, I'd try for any experience in Epcot. We just had our first trip to Le Cellier & Chefs de France a couple of weeks ago, and we have glowing reviews about both! We enjoyed Biergarten last year because it was a buffet and everyone could pick through and eat just the stuff that they like most.

No matter what your final decisions is, I don't think you'll be disappointed. You'll find that people have given positive reviews about just about every restaurant in all of WDW. And it's not all about the food... although that's a wonderful part of it. We've had some of the best service in WDW restaurants, and you always really get an "experience" ...which really sets Disney dining far apart from your typical Friday's or Applebees meals.

If you have a lunch time that you can go to Down Town Disney, call and make reservations at T-Rex. I think is a must for people with kids. The food is great and the dinosaurs and meteor shower are something to see In AK go to Tusker House, if you book it right you can get Fast Pass for the Nemo Show.

If you book Rose & Crown @ Epcot for around 7:45, you can get an awesome view of Illuminations from the restaurant terrace! It's a must do for us every year!
