Ever taken an overnight flight from MCO to maximize your last day in the parks? We could save approx. $50pp by departing MCO at 7PM, staying the night at DFW, then heading back to Indiana the next morning. (Does that make sense?) Anyway ... with a late departure we could spend all morning and part of the afternoon at the parks. How exciting. :woohoo: But DH isn't thrilled about the idea since it means another night in a hotel. :rolleyes2 What do you think?

I'd rather stay in the same hotel I had been in all week, and leave Orlando the next morning, than pack up my stuff in the morning, go to the parks that day, then fly to another city, check into another hotel, unpack, sleep, repack, etc. :faint:

Understood ... but the room at YC is $305 per night. Ouch!

There is no way for you to get home that night, even late? We're fortunate to have a non-stop 8:30 pm flight home to Ohio. So we can stay at the parks until dinnertime, then be home by 11:30! We're excited!

We're out west, so we can take a 6 pm direct flight and still be home by 9 local time. Because of the time change, it works backward coming out - takes all day with time changes and we hardly get any time. So we usually go out on a late afternoon flight, landing 11 pm or so, then stay at a hotel near the airport and drive in to WDW from MCO in the morning.

This next trip in about a month, however, is going to be a new experience. Due to airfare and schedules, we're flying in and out of Tampa. Coming in will be about the same, but we'll fly home on a 7:30 am flight! So, we'll spend our last full day at the parks and drive over to Tampa whenever we're done for the night to stay in an airport hotel over there. We'll see how we like it!

I don't know if I'd recommend doing what we just did! It was brutal. Our flight back home left at 5:30 a.m. from Orlando so by the time we closed the MK at midnight (just couldn't bear to leave until then), took the tram to the parking lot, went back to our hotel (offsite), packed everything up we had to drive to the airport. No sleep! But we did get back home in the morning and went right to bed.

What about moving to a Value Resort for the last night, or even checking into an airport-area hotel really late that night and flying out early the next morning (when right now you're planning to fly out of DFW)?

That would be my second choice: Staying at the hotel in the airport terminal building overnight.

We always take a late flight. Here is what we do:

8am~ wake up
10am~ check out of room and have them hold luggage
10am-4:30 pm~ magic kingdom (gotta begin and end our trip there) :wizard:
4:30 pm leave for airport
7pm flight on Jetblue
midnight ~arive in NY
1am~ back in my own bed
