I loved the Soarin ride after riding it for the first time last weekend. I opted for the Singles line the second time to ride. While I was waiting, all by myself, down near the concourse for a spot to open up, CM's were grouped together and speaking amongst themselves - or so they thought. I heard lots of crabbing and complaining about the crowds on this "stupid" ride, parents who were forcing their little ones on it - even though they were screaming, people who didn't pay any attention to height requirements, people who stood in front of the Soaring entrance, and then wanted to know if this was the Soarin Ride?, people who expected to enter the ride with a FP that was a time later in the day, the supervisor who made the CM work this attraction without a break, etc. etc.

Granted, people crab about any job they do,and no one is happy all the time with it, and they were all smiles when the time cameto load the next group in, but gee, are they burnt out already with this attraction?? Just an observation - not much pixie dust for the CM's on this day!! :confused3

As long as the guest had a great time I guess they are allowed to talk about things. It wasn't a good idea that they talked loud enough that you heard them.

You and I have probably said the same things a time or two. The person complaining might have been working an extra shift or two.

everyone has their good and bad days--the CM's should keep the negative behind closed doors though----

some people are on vacation to escape those things in our lives!!

I have to agree-- they were most likely just having a really bad day. I think we all complain at work, and sometimes we get so carried away the wrong person hears.

Since they were all smiles when they were around the guests, they probably weren't aware that you could hear them. Every job has its ups and downs, even at Disney, but I think the CM's could have been a little more discreet. After all, you never know who might hear you complaining (for all they know, you might have been a major stockholder or company big-wig on vacation)! It could get them in real trouble one of these days.

Yes it could, and I'm sure if the OP had said something to them, they would have been all over themselves appologizing. I think People sometimes forget that these are young people who have to work in the heat, with the public, and get paid very low wages. I don't condone their behaviour, I just know what goes into it.

Everyone has a bad day - we all think it's sunshine and roses at Disney, but these are young adults working with the public all day every day in the Florida heat for a low wage - similar to every other theme park in the world. Just like I complained on occasion while working retail, they have the right to complain at their job. We all do it - they should be more careful about their audience, though ;)

Just remember that CM's are people too - just like you and me. We all have bad days. We all deal with politics. We all deal with idiots. We all just have to learn where the appropriate time and place to vent about those things is =) Doesn't sound like they have done that yet.
