This was at 8PM, 1/16/22, near the exit to the festival food kiosk line.
Fortunately, the recycling bin still had room...so people were dumping their half eaten food into that instead... :(
By the way, my Beef Wellington was horribly salty and fatty. Don't bother.639829

Unpleasant but not surprising given how hard Omicron and Delta have hit Florida recently.

We had similar experiences at both Food & Wine Fest and QS in November and thought it due to how short staffed WDW likely was.

Since that was not long before Omicron really took hold in the US, I expect CMs doing trash pickup are much more stressed and falling behind now than they were then.

It's also possible that management is not sufficiently aware how this is impacting park operations. Or sufficiently concerned.

And it also doesn't explain the Beef Wellington, either.

Most likely from staffing shortages. It’s best to address your concerns to Disney where they’ll see or hear it. You can email or call them.
I could probably purchase a Figment popcorn bucket faster than I could reach a Disney CM by phone who was able to help with this issue. And I'd still have time to do Remy's Ratatouille Adventure.

Leave a message. There is a phone number pinned thread. They’ll get back to you.

There are major staffing shortages in Central Florida.
True, however...
1. Disney laid off a lot of people at the start of this. Yes, they were concerned about loses, but this was a choice they made and it had predictable consequences.

2. Labor is subject to supply and demand. Disney can "solve" their labor shortage by offering more money, better benefits, some relocation assistance, etc. Again, they are concerned about expenses, but, again this is a choice they are making with predictable consequences.

3. A Disney visit isn't cheap. They are a premium product. Guests are (still) willing to pay the Disney premium because of the perceived level of service and quality. Sadly, my Beef Wellington was inedible (literally, I had to throw most of it away), and the garbage can was overflowing (probably two related issues.) Yet, my spouse and I still paid over $130 for a few bites of mostly just OK food and a couple of beverages within the span of 2 hours. The park was packed full of people doing the same. Disney should be able to find someone to empty the garbage bins, even if it means having a manager come out and do it. If Walt were still alive, I'm sure he would have emptied them, himself.

Woah, what did you buy? $130 for snack food and drink? Or was that a sit down meal?

No kidding! We went through and tried as much as we could, because we didn't know when we'd have a chance to return. Obviously, some of the stuff wasn't worth fully consuming (the China booth was a disappointment, too.) Maybe my math is off, but I'm pretty sure is was around that much, all said and done.

That General Tso's Shumai...we were debating how much Disney would have to pay one of us to finish all 3 of them. I would have done it for $100, but my spouse was holding out for more...

It's America now. We've been opening the trains ourselves to get product, with nobody to clean after.

Am I the only one that thinks it's hilarious that someone took the time to not only take a picture of the offensive trash, but staged someone in front of it to point at it?

Of all the things to take pictures of at WDW, this is a choice.

Have a wonderful vacation! I hope the good outweighs the bad for you.
