I'm getting a little nervous as I have read a couple of posts about HRH overbooking their rooms. I have a Deluxe Queen room booked there in 2 weeks. For the past week or so, every time I check the Loews website it isn't listing that room at ANY rate. The other room categories are all listed (Garden View, Pool view, Deluxe King, Club, etc), but not Deluxe Queen. We are arriving on Friday night around 7:30. What are the chances that we won't have that room? And if it isn't available, where would they put us? We are 3 adults and 2 kids, so a King room wouldn't work, I booked the Deluxe Queen specifically for the 2 queens plus pullout couch. What do you think?

I wouldn't worry too much. Deluxe queen is the most popular room category and usually fills up the quickest. They usually only overbook garden view rooms so you should be fine. Enjoy!

Thanks, I'll try not to worry. If there were only 4 of us, it wouldn't be a big deal but because of the make up of our group, we are limited as to what type of rooms will fit us.

same here for me.
trip to hrh coming up soon and hoping the deluxe queen i have won't hve a glitch to it.

but then, last time it was pbh that was being offered

The only rooms showing as available now on the Loew's site are Club rooms. Guess the hotel will be pretty packed! 6 days and biting nails... I mean counting!

mrsmud, i feel the same way.
i leave the 27, return oct 10............hoping for a great vacation

hoping yours is also...

Well, I'm a week late in posting, but wanted to update with our experience:

When we arrived at HRH on 9/30, after waiting 30 minutes in line for checkin (there was no separate LoewsFirst line, and when I asked an employee he said they hadn't set it up because there was no need?), I was told that "We have you in a Club Queen room"! I said, "No, I booked a Deluxe Queen", to which he looked like he had no idea what I was talking about. He said he had us down for a Club Queen and explained that it was actually an upgrade from a Deluxe. Yes, I told him I realized that but I had specifically booked the Deluxe for the pullout sofa, so my 65 yr. old MIL wouldn't have to sleep on a rollaway bed, so while I appreciated the offer of the upgrade, I really needed the Deluxe. To which he replied (surprise, surprise) "We don't have any available". I wasn't about to go quietly, so I insisted we had booked a Deluxe (actually switched our ressie from PBH specifically for the Deluxe bedding), and that's what I wanted. After about 15 minutes of him trying different things on the computer and speaking to other employees, miraculously a Deluxe Queen appeared, but it was smoking, when we had requested nonsmoking. I was just happy to get the room so we took it anyway. On the bright side, he did give us vouchers for free breakfast in the Kitchen for the inconvenience. We really enjoyed that.
When we got to the room it smelled of smoke, so when the Bellhop came I asked him if he could send someone up to spray it. He said he would do better than that and he would have an air purifier sent up. It never arrived, despite the front clerk's assurance that he would follow up and make sure we got it (along with our milk and cookies, which we finally got the 3rd night). By the next morning my poor MIL could hardly breathe, so we went back to the front desk and asked if by any chance a Nonsmoking Deluxe Queen had opened up. Our clerk this time was wonderful. She really went out of her way to make several changes in the computer and finally was able to give us the room we had originally booked for the next 3 nights!
So in summary, I was right to be nervous about overbooking. I hope everyone else has a better experience!

It never ceases to amaze me how one clark can't find any rooms but another clerk can!
Once we had requested that our friends have a room close to us. Of course, they said there were none. The next morning, I checked again and lo and behold the room across was vacant and had been the night before!

thought i better scratch what i originally posted.........don't want to cause problems here.

No problems at all! Glad you got so lucky. We did get the free breakfast which did make up for the inconvenience (at least in my opinion, not so sure about MIL's), unfortunately there were a host of other minor screwups which will make me think twice before booking HRH again.
