It never fails. The more time I have to prepare for a trip the more I pack. Right now I'm 30+ days until the trip and I got a box full of stuff I "need' to take. When I go on last minute trips I don't take as much stuff and I somehow survive.

Anyone else have this problem?

Me too! I'm too embarrassed to tell you what I took on our recent trip to Florida. What made matters worse is that my DH, who had to leave 3 days before us to go back to work, ended up leaving behind 2 pairs of shorts, 5 shirts, a pair of underwear and a pair of sox. Like I needed to add all THAT to what the rest of us already had. And what the heck did he TAKE home??

Yes, and I'm about to get burned by it. We are trying to do three days at WDW, a 4 night cruise, then three days at Universal this month. We took a total of 11 bags last year for just 7 days, and that was just enough. Two checked and one carry-on apiece, plus I carried the biggest mongo purse I can find with 2 other bags INSIDE it, plus DH carried his briefcase and a shopping bag.

But we change too much. Shorts to the parks, nicer outfit for dinner, then totally different clothes to go out to Church St. I think I'm only going to pack half as much and get my laundry done the day at sea before we get off the ship.

I am a serious overpacker. Next trip will be 10 days. I will have to do laundry. I know I will still completely overpack.
