just a heads up for those that charge the first night of your stay on your credit cards for the on site hotels.
check your statement on line or by paper if you receive a written monthly bill for your credit card.
i charged my ressie jan. 3 and it just popped up on my account.
i have the loews gold which entitles me to the free upgrade if made at the time of the ressie request.
holy cow..........i had an additional charge of $37. for the room.
i called and found out the reason.
i was told that i was charged for the water view even though it was a free upgrade.
to make the ressie as a loews member, the higher priced room is considered the charge to hold the room. then, it is supposed to go to accounting for the reduced rate. in my case, the charge of a standard room. apparently, mine was not sent off to accounting for the correction.
universal told me that it will be corrected when i check in at rph in october when i go. they said lately this has been happening. the loews member is charged for the upgrade but it is reversed once the guest has checked in to the hotel. i asked, what if i have a hassle over this, i'm staying 4 nights.
the employee said, stand there and argue your head off.........she was a hoot, we both had a good laugh over that. the gal told me if there is a problem, the front desk can call them for all the notations. was told not to worry, but to take the rph email of confirmation with me when i check in.
this is the first time i have been overcharged but i know it will all be worked out once i am there.
