I'm curious if anyone knows how one gets on "the list" to receive discount codes in the mail/email?

We've gone over 45 times spread over the past 20 years, and I'm also registerd on disney.com, but we've never rec'd a single one! It's frustrating to be such a great disney customer, but see others offered so many discounts through they years.

Anyone know why this might be, or have suggestions as to how to get on the list?

Must be because we've from Georgia. :rotfl2: I've been over 25 times in the past ten years and I've never gotten a postcard rate either. I think "the list" is just as much of a mystery as the "they" everyone keeps talking about.

One theory is if you go too often, Disney doesn't need to entice you with a discount. I go about every two years, and they know when I am planning my next vacation in my preferences on the disney website. I am planning Jan 2008, and this year I have received 3 postcards, saying things like "Now you can come earlier than you planned", etc.. I haven't been able to use them, because they are earlier than I planned. Of course, they won't send me one for Jan. now :(

I've been averaging 1 visit every 1-2 years and have never gotten a postcard or a pin. I'm also on the disney.com website & still get nothing. Sorta frustrating!!:confused3

We've just returned from our 39th visit and that reservation was made in the spring of the year. We never got any postcards or e-mails either but when we called CRO, we asked if there were any code attached to our name and low and behold there was. It was a better price then AAA so thats how we booked our September. We're looking to return in January or February and are going to start calling CRO to see what pin codes are attached to our name and juggle that against AP codes and AAA discounts.

I agree that they may be targeting people who go less often...we've never recieved any codes, but my in-laws, who last went to WDW with us in 2004, received a postard in the mail back in January or February.

actually at times it is due to where you live. they send them to areas not likely to visit and sorry Georgia is not on that list.

Then it is random selection.

It's been 3 years since we've been and within the last couple of months, we received both a postcard (to my husband) and an e-mail (to me). We'll be there this December using the postcard.

I'm just guessing, but I'll bet that's exactly what it is. I'm in marketing, which doesn't make me any smarter than anyone else, but it does make me wonder why a company like Disney would offer codes -- well, to get people to come who weren't planning on coming. If they know I come all the time, what does Disney gain by giving me a discount -- they'll just get less of my money. BUT, if I'm not planning on coming, giving me a discount still gives them more of my money than if I hadn't visited at all... So how do I feel about that, when I got pretty regularly? Well, I guess I wish I would get a code, but I probably understand why I don't... and I'm glad I get to go as often as I do!!

It seems to be tied to your zip code, or if you are a first time visitor.

I've lived in the New Orleans, LA area, and now just outside Baltimore, MD. I've had an active Annual Pass for about 7 years running, go two to four times a year, and I've never received squat in postcards, pins or email offers.

We go to WDW every 3-4 years and get the postcards all the time - except for when we have a trip planned to Disney! That's irony for you! We have older kids and can't take them out of school and the postcards we get are always for fall, winter and spring -never for the summer months when we can travel.
