Outside of WDW

If you were to stay outside of the Disney Resorts, which Resort would a family of 4 stay in ? Price range would be in the moderate range.

We rented a home one time and LOVED it. There were 9 of us and we rented a 4-bedroom home for just $119 a night! Winn-Dixie was right around the corner. We did our groceries and made our meals there (full kitchen) and the garage had a full size washer/dryer too. It was very close to WDW but every few times we go, we'll stay in the World for the extra magic it provides. Here are a couple of links. The first is the place we rented the home from. The second is a bit more expensive but you can see and choose the home you want to rent (no surprises) and it's much closer to WDW.

We have only done offsite 3 times.
Twice at the Holiday Inn sunspree. It was very good and reasonably priced. They have themed rooms where the kids and adults can have their own space and kitchenettes which are so convenient. It also depends how old your kids are. No real restaurant however but this is a great place for little ones.
We stayed at a Disney hotel outside of Downtown Disney/the Best Western. It was awful!! Bathroom toilet did not work, shower water went from really hot to icy cold in 15 seconds and no towels or proper lighting at the pool. So ask around and do your homework. I would think outside the park there are alot of options to "lure" you away from onsite and the deals should be great too.
