Watermelon Roll Relay -- get two watermelons, line kids up in two lines. Have them roll the watermelon by hand to one end and back ... then switch kids and do it until everyone rolls. First team to have all players finish wins!
Clothes Line Relay -- get two laundry baskets, some clothes and clothes pins. Hang up two laundry lines. Get your teams into 2 groups and each person goes up to the clothesline, grabs a piece of clothing and clothes pins and has to hang that item up before the next person goes. First group to hang all the clothes wins!
Water Relay -- just like the sponge relay, only you use cups to hold water instead of sponges.
Spoon and Bouncy Ball Relay -- Divide up into two teams. Give the first person on ea. team a plastic spoon and a bouncy ball. The first person in ea. group has to run (or walk fast) w/the ball on the spoon. Of course, if it drops, they have to pick it up and go. When they're done w/their relay, the next person gets the spoon and ball. First team to finish wins.
Hula Hoop Throw -- get two hula hoops and put them quite a distance apart, flat on the ground. Use bean bags or tennis balls and have the kids toss the ball/bean bag and try to get it into the hula hoop. Winners are the ones who land inside the hoop!
Baseball Bat Relay -- again, two groups of kids in separate lines, two baseball bats. Kids have to run up to the bat, grab it and hold it upright to the ground. They lean over and place their forehead on the top flat part of the bat. Then, they run around the bat in a circle (w/the bat to their head) for three complete circles around the bat. Then, they have to run back to their place. Of course, they're dizzy and falling all over the place, which not only makes it challenging, but hysterical as well!!!!!
