We are going to Chef Mickey's for dinner on DD's 2nd birthday. I found a really pretty cake that I can order from Publix for a lot less than that Disney charges for cake. Is it ok to bring an outside cake to a Disney restaurant? This is the first time we are really celebrating anything at Disney and don't want to be frowned upon.

No, they don't allow you to bring in outside food. (most restaurants have this policy) In fact, there was recently a post here about someone who ordered a cake from the Boardwalk and took it to Chef Mickey's and they eventually agreed to let her bring it to the table, but would not store it for her or help serve it in any way.

My advice is to enjoy the cake in your room and enjoy the birthday cupcake they'll bring your daughter at Chef Mickey's.

I'm pretty sure you cannot bring in outside food. I believe it's a health code violation of some sort.

because this was such a heated topic, I am closing it now

OP, the earlier posted issue is a person bought a cake at the BW bakery and brought it to CM for a surprise. They wanted the cake stored bt CM until it was time for dessert. As the cake was a surprise, this was not what the person wanted

Lesson learned - call CM and ask what is acceptable. Can you bring it in and keep it on the table as a centerpiece and serve it at dinner. Will they allow you to use plates and a knife there or bring your own.

Based on the answers you receive will guide you :thumbsup2
