So I just got my BEO today and they are charging me $1397.83 for an Ipod set-up. This is INSANE! I can almost get a DJ for that amount! I have looked at several people's BEO's and they are being charged $250 for it. Why am I being charged almost $1400??

I send an email to my planners assistant and she is gone until Tuesday. I also wanted an Ipod set up for another function and they are charging me $833 for that one. WTH?

Our iPod set up was the $250. We had limited speakers I would assume (Whitehall room/no dance floor). Unless you have other dance floor items or DH-like set up not accounted for elsewhere, I think it's an error. This happened multiple times with multiple items on our BEO and should be easily fixable and/or explained. :thumbsup2

It depends on the venue. The people who are being charged $250 are having events that are indoors, near electrical outlets, with no tech to run the iPod.

Our CD player setup (same thing) for our ceremony outdoors in Epcot was almost $900 because they had to bring everything, run electrical, etc. and we had a tech.

You may be able to reduce the cost if it includes a sound tech and you can have someone in your group do his/her job, or if you use fewer speakers. But it really depends on what is required to make the sound work in your venue.

That makes sense. Both our things are outdoors. But we don't need a tech or anything like that. If they are going to carge me $1400 for an Ipod set-up, then I think I would rather get a DJ.:confused3

How much would a DJ cost at the outdoor venues? He'd probably need an outdoor setup too so he could potentially be even more pricey than the $1400.

Semi-unrelated question: we were told we couldn't have music outdoors at EPCOT (Isola West). Is this true?

I don't have $1,000 in my budget for IPod set up, but if they're going to change their minds and tell me I can have music in the end, it might be something I want to budget for.

It depends—is this for a reception on the Isola while the park is open, or for a ceremony before the park opens? After the park is open, you can't have amplified entertainment. You can have live musicians if they're playing an appropriate style of music (solo, trio, etc. Probably not a full band...)
