Outrageous breakfast prices Easter week

Is it just me?? I cannot see paying $20-$27 for breakfast for a 10 year old during Easter week. My son turns 10 in Feb and our trip is in March. It is just the 2 of us. Boma is $21 and Chef Mickeys is $27 for breakfast. Help. We are looking for a sit down breakfast but since when did a couple pieces of toast, eggs and bacon and a piece of fruit add up to $27??? ANy recommendations for a sit down non-buffet breakfast? (with or without characters) . What are the options at Swan / Dolphin??

Kona is the first place that comes to mind but that's at the Poly. Fresh at the Dolphin might be okay too.

Spoodles at the Boardwalk and the Captain's Table at the Yacht Club. You also have Picabo's cafeteria right at the Dolphin. There's also a quick bite at the Boardwalk Bakery.

During Easter, the holiday buffet pricing is in effect which is why the prices are so high.

Another nice place is Olivia's Cafe at Old Key West. You don't even really need a reservation. It's a lovely place and a lot of the servers have been there for years. We love it!

We are also re-thinking the buffets as my son is turning 10 this spring. They are very pricey and when WDW adds the "holiday surcharges" I think they are really gouging. We always do our buffets at dinner and we choose one or two favorites each trip. The we drive to Perkins ot Pizza Hut to "offset" the outrageous prices ON property.

Trail's End at Ft. Wilderness used to have a much more reasonable breakfast buffet, and so does the place now called "Captain's Grille" at Yacht Club. No characters so much cheaper and you can order a la carte if you like.

That's nothing...wait till you see the price for breakfast at the Flower and Garden

I would highly recommend Yatch Grille-you have the choice of either(buffet or indv items)

Another great sit down breakfast can be had at Boatwrights at POR. They are even good about my DS ordering from the children's menu--he isn't a big breakfast eater and he even had leftovers when he ordered from the children's menu--the waitress didn't believe me when I told her that would happen and sure enough he didn't finish--we of course tip as though he ordered an adult meal.

This seems like a dumb question, but I just want to verify.

If you're on the DDP, the price increases don't effect you, right?

Thanks!

Trail's End breakfast buffet (at Fort Wilderness - Disney's campground) is a bargain at about $12-14, I think. We  it. Delicious food and lots of it!

Trail's End is part of the holiday buffet pricing. I think breakfast is $16.

I agree with the price gouging for the holidays. This is the first time that I am considering other options.

They did this for mid December to January 5. I cancelled all of my buffet ADRs (I've got an AP and DDE and pay OOP) and went to Jiko, Brown Derby and Spoodles. I was NOT paying $33/plate for a chef mickey dinner for an 11 y/o without a huge appetite.

Disney has something, we want it. We either pay for it or find something else. My "something else" for breakfasts are cereal and fruit in my room.

Oh, I now see the price for Easter Brunch at Epcot (also the same for Mothers Day brunch at Epcot)
Walt would be having a cow!!!

10 and up $47.00
3-9 $20.00

The increased "holiday pricing" which will also affect prices from before Memorial Day through the Fourth of July. (Yes, the entire month of June is a holiday - didn't you know that?) was one of the deciding factors in our going with the DDP.
