has anyone ever visited the outlets? The ones that Disney send stuff too. Is it worth the trip across I 4 to save my kids their hard earned money on, or just bite the bullet and let them spend in the park.
thanks leaving in 13 days

We went a couple of years ago and found it worth it. My DD got some Dalmation PJ's for like $7. We got some pins to trade for either $1 or $2, I can't remember. They had lots of other stuff there too. I have heard that it is hit or miss though. If you've got some time to kill, why not take the drive. There are tons of other stores as well!

I think part of the magic of Disney is watching the kids pick out their souvenirs, but if you really do want to save money, take them to your local Disney store. They have been having really good sales lately.

We've had real hit or miss trips to the outlets. I found a magnet from the musical "On The Record," which I had seen in Boston for 9 cents! Yes NINE cents! That was one of my best outlet bargains. My other best buy was when we found WDW penny books for .99- these are the same ones they were selling at the parks for $6. We only bought 3 and my DH still kicks himself for not buying the whole lot!! I have also bought postcards for as little as a dime at the outlets, and they're the same ones they sell in the parks for about .75 now. We've also done well finding t-shirts and other things, but like I said, we've had other trips where we haven't found anything.
We try to make time during the course of our trip to make a run over...

We love them. Plus I like to go to the Anne Taylor Loft Outlet up the road a bit when we go. I often buy my entire year's wardrobe there for very little. They have a room where everything is $6-15. Gorgeous! If you wear business attire in your everyday life I believe it is worth it. We also go to the Outlet Disney stores & get princess costumes & jammies for under $10.00 a piece & all our souveniers to bring home as family gifts.

My kids don't mind at all as they can get lots more there than in the DTD stores. EVERY year they want the spinning characters with the lights that spin. They are silly little toys that cost $12 in park. We got them there last year for a dollar a piece. Buzz Lightyear & Mickey Mouse, etc. My kids were thrilled because I always say, "No" to those because it seems such a waste but for a buck to make them happy? You betcha!

This time we'll go to the outlets our first day & let them get what they want. Then every day I think I'll use our DDP snacks to let them pick out a sucker or some Disney food as that day's in-park souvenier. Plus I always let them get one spectacular thing that I know they will play with for years. Last year it was the My Little Pony accessory box at DTD. Well worth the money.
