Outlet pins...legit?

My neighbor got some pins at the Character Premiere outlet across I-4 and yesterday a CM at Epcot gave her a REALLY hard time about trading it.

It was a G-Force pin that I have ID'd on both the official site and pin pics.

My neighbor came to me because she was so upset by the encounter and knows that I used to be a CM and trade often.

I have NEVER heard of outlet pins not being legit to trade before and personally I think this CM was full of it.

According to my neighbor the CM:
- 1st told her G-Force wasn't a Disney movie
- then when my neighbor showed the CM the pin trading logo, the CM told her it wasn't the "right" logo
- them when my neighbor told the CM she bought it at the Character Premiere outlet, the CM told my neighbor that the outlet 'wasn't disney' and were people making knock-off products

So is the CM full of it or is any of this true.

FWIW, the outlet CMs also trade pins and wear the same WDW name tags as on property CMs.

My neighbor was really upset by the encounter. My neighbor doesn't knowingly trade scrappers, doesn't buy off of ebay but does try to save money by buying outlet pins for her kids to trade.

IDK, I have no problems trading pins from the Character Warehouse outlets out here on the west coast. The only problam I have run into is when others have the same idea, so sometimes the CMs already have the one you want to give them.
