Hi there! We are going to OBX this summer for 2 weeks and would love to get a family photo on the beach. Does anybody know of a good but inexpensive photographer? We will be staying in Duck if that helps! Thanks in advance

We've used Shooters on the Beach in the past (google them for their website) and our pictures were great! We are using them again when we go this July.

Sorry, I forgot to add we always stay in Duck - I think Shooters goes anywhere on the OBX.

We have also used Shooters at the Beach a couple of times and have been very pleased. They are reasonably priced also.

Not to hijack the thread, but a couple questions regarding Shooters and your candid feedback and information would be great.

I went on their website - they have great beach shots. But worried about price as we are staying in Corolla and it is an extra $50 bucks so $225 for a family of 4. When the photos are done and you are ready to order do you get a cd of your photos? Can you save your proofs to an online photo site and print on your own? Or do you have to exclusively print and purchase from them? Do you get a discount if you allow them to use your photos on their site?

Thank you so much and sorry for all the questions but I think this would be a great gift for my parents for Christmas of my family.

Are you staying somewhere in Corolla that is only 4x4 accessible? That is the only reason I saw an extra $50 charge in Corolla.

As far as getting a CD and printing them yourself I really doubt they allow that, although I don't know that for sure. When we had them last done by them (2003) I think they sent us actual small proofs and we ordered from those. When we had beach portraits taken at St. George Island, Florida (different photographer) in 2006, the photographer e-mailed us the proofs but wrote on the top of them her studio name and copyright so we could not take them and print them ourselves.

Thank you for everyone who replied so far. I will have to take a look at the website for Shooters. I am hoping the beach scenery will get my kids to cooperate and actually take one nice picture- you know the kind that shows a happy family who likes each other and likes to go away together
