Outdoor dining at a resort?

We have one night at a resort before our DCL cruise and we’re Covid cautious still so I want to find some place for outdoor dining (we’ll do indoor dining on the cruise because of the vax and testing requirements). We’re fine with either sit down or quick service, but we’re pescatarian so a lot of the outdoor bar type places don’t have much we can eat. We’d also like to avoid the chaos of Disney Springs if we can.

After doing some research I was thinking of Big River Grille since it looks like they take reservations on open table and have plenty of options and the Boardwalk seems to be a good way to spend an evening with kids. What do you think?

Or is there somewhere else I should look into?

Geyser Point (Wilderness Lodge) has a salmon dish that is pretty good (at least the last time I had it). Disney food quality tends to be ephemeral.

I totally second Geyser Point! You'll probably fall in love with the whole experience there.
If you like Asian noodles, Captain Cook's at Polynesian has quick service, outdoor noodles meatless, plus other meatless options.
Venturing into the Springs, Raglan Road has the best mussels dish I've ever loved! Dinner and a show.
These are just a few "never knew that" ideas we've recently tried.

We did exactly this - Big River Grille - for our arrival night in December 2021, as we only wanted to eat outdoors and I was able to snag a reservation on open table. The food is just fine. Not gourmet, but good enough. Our table on the Boardwalk was the perfect way to have arrival dinner outdoors. We love Geyser Point, and yes their food would be a step up from Big River Grille. We couldn't get into Geyser Point one trip so we ordered from the Quick Service window at Geyser Point and ate out on the water and that too was an easy outdoor meal. I would choose whichever restaurant is closest to your resort OR works with your plans. Enjoy.
