For those of you that have gone with an out of town photographer, how much did they charge (over the package price) for their travel expenses? I'm considering this as I really like a photographer I found in Atlanta (where I live). I've talked with her and she does travel, with expenses. For those that have done this, how much did you allow for this?

TIA! :goodvibes

I paid for my photographers flight and hotel accommodations a Disney resort. I even threw in park tickets. I don't know of anyone else who has flown in a photographer.

My cousin flew her photographer to Punta Cana, paid for her hotel (it was an all inclusive) and the fees were adjusted to something like 20% off. Expensive to me but she really loved her pictures.

I was married at WDW way back in 1996 and at the time there was a photographer Nancy Cohn http://www.nancycohn.com/ who was on the list of photographers given to us by Disney. She lived in Vermont but did weddings at Disney and I think other parts of FL (West Palm Beach?) We loved he photography even though her prices were probably $2K more than the cheapest options with other photographers. She arranged and paid for all of her own travel (plane, rental car, hotel) and we just paid for her meal at the wedding reception. She mentioned she just stayed off-site at a Quality Inn or something along those lines. We flew in our minister and we covered his airfare, hotel for I think 2 nights and meals for a couple of days. He paid for the expenses for his wife and they paid for a couple of additional nights at the hotel and they purchased their own park tickets.

Although I'm not getting married in Disney, I'm flying a photographer from Orlando to Puerto Rico for my wedding. They reconfigured one of their packages and replaced the album option with their travel (airfare, hotel, meals) It is definitely more than we were planning on spending for our photographer, but when all is said and done, that's all you have left. With a photographer coming from Atlanta, the travel costs should not be that bad and you could pre-pay the accommodations, or they may work with you to set an allotment. I would talk to the photographer and she what she will do for you, most are flexible.

Thanks everyone! I think it is going to work out. It will be a little more than standard photography, but I really like her and the pictures are important. Like someone said, that's what you have left (that and your husband of course, LOL!)

She and her assistant will need flight and hotel, but they assured us it didn't have to be the top of the line option. And as a PP said, flights from Atlanta are super easy and super cheap. :)
