Out-of-state AP Question

I’m going to Disneyland for 2 days in a few months. I believe I’m able to buy the Enchant Key for $650 as an out of stater (I could be wrong on that). When I arrive for my trip can I upgrade to that AP from whatever the cost is from my 2 day ticket, basically for an extra $350? Thanks!

So if I upgrade right before I enter the park at Guest Relations there is a chance I won’t be able to get into the park if there aren’t park reservations available that day or the next?

You don't have to go to the ticket booth to upgrade, you can do it on the app during your trip. You can then do the upgrade on your last day right before you leave the park. That way you don't have to worry about losing any reservations.

The only downside of this approach is you can't use the Magic Key discounts or perks during your first trip.

You can upgrade at the end of your trip. We went over Christmas Eve/Day with 5-day park hoppers and upgraded when we were ready to leave. I used gift cards to pay for the difference, so I had to go to the booth, but as the previous poster said you can do it in your trip. For us the discounts would have been nice but the days we were there we were blocked anyway.

We live in AZ and have the Enchant Key. We did 5 days in December and my son and I went for 3 days in February. Going again in April for 3 days. Hopefully, a June visit before we're blocked and back for visit in October. Even though we are limited on weekends it's worked out well for us.

Other than your reservations disappearing, there is also a chance that the tickets disappear but the keys don't appear in the app. This happened to some people that I know so make sure you plan for potentially standing in line for an hour at the ticket booth to get this fixed.

It’s all your mileage may vary type issues. For instance, when we upstaged we didn’t lose our reservations while others did. All we have are “best practices” to not ruin your trip which have already been mentioned.

Upgrade via the app after the last time you walk through the turnstiles is your best bet. That way if there is an issue, someone in your party can be the sacrificial lamb and go to the ticket booth with the assumption that you might be locked out of the park afterwards.

Disney IT gonna Disney IT.
