Out for the fourth??

Camping at a KOA in Copake, NY this weekend. No fireworks anywhere around, BUT, the KOA brings in a professional fireworks show each year, and by chance (reserved the same site I stayed at last Labor Day because we liked that location), the site we liked and reserved again for the 4th has a "front row" seat to the show where they set them off. Few storms Friday evening, but weather looks great for rest of weekend including the Fireworks Sunday night! Have a great holiday everyone...God Bless America!!!

Nothing for me this weekend, Jimmy. My Mom has her birthday on THE day (July 4th) so we will be partying with her this weekend.

However, I do have a waterfront site reserved for the 3-day Labor Day weekend so I can settle in with the satellite dish and watch the opening weekend of college football.

We are heading to Branson. I wasn't going to go anywhere since most places are a zoo on a holiday weekend, but last week I decided to head down and see our friends that live there. Camping a few miles away from the strip where it is a little quieter. I was lucky to get a spot.

Fireworks at several places Friday, Saturday, Sunday or Monday night. We'll probably go out on our friends boat Sunday and watch fireworks over the water. Heading home Monday so we can watch fireworks up here too.

Here's where I'm spending the holiday. Ozark Country RV Park in Branson. Nice place. Away from the strip, but close enough to get where you want to pretty quick.

Just got done grilling chicken and ribs. All the family over right now. I gotta head to work here shortly.

Cuts? Burns?

We had 130 fireworks related patients come in. Lots of hand injuries. Enough to fill up our trauma and plastics ORs for much of the week.

Ah the delightful aftermath of alcohol and fireworks. Worked the forth in Pvt Transport Ambo service spent early part day emptying out frequent fliers from ERs we serve then any last minute discharges fortunate smiled with rain at like 6pm till after midnight so we dodged a big hit

People don't realize how dangerous the fireworks can be..... It looks cool, yeah, but if you don't know what your doing (and sometimes, even if you do know what you are doing), it's easy to loose an eye, finger or worse.

I still remember my buddy had some fireworks and while launching a LARGE rocket from a bottle, the bottle tipped over and the rocket came right at us. Fortunately it missed us but it could have been much (MUCH) worse.
