Am working on our trip report, but wanted to let you know about EA. Flight was delayed and didn't get in until after 10:30 pm on Dec. 26th. Went directly to terminal B's EA, and there was *nothing* left except 6 teeny, tiny sports cars (Mitsubishi something-or-others). There were at least three other families standing around, just staring in dismay, with absolutely no employees in sight. If we wouldn't have been so exhausted, I would have gone back in to the counter, or gone to the "A" side, but we were just beat, so we crammed everything in, and left. Next a.m., after a little rest, I woke up pretty hot under the collar, and so politely called National at the airport to complain. "Kathy" was very understanding, said, "no problem, bring it back at any time, tell the check-in agent I said it was okay to swap out, and take something else off the aisle". We went back about 5 p.m. on the 28th, and there were quite a few "mid-sized" cars available, so we swapped for an Oldsmobile Alero (4 dr), and were satisfied with it. At final check-in I was only given a receipt for $170 9 day charge, when my original confirmation said 10 day $188, but I wasn't going to argue! No excuse for not having more choice on the aisle originally, but at least they did make it right.

Glad it worked out for you... the only thing I would have insisted on was that National be the one to do the swap.

I had problems only once with National (minor mechanical, not an EA problem)... in the end I got a discount also, but the best part was that they sent an agent out with a new car for me. I had told them that the car was absolutely drivable, but I was worried about a noise it was making. They sent out the car/driver, AND a flat-bed to pick up the old one. ha ha. This was in Vegas, not Orlando.

Did you have to go back to the airport or did they swap it at the Disney location?

The only reason we agreed to do the swap was because DH was flying out anyways, so we had to go to the airport. Reading back over my printout, I suppose the sportscar *could* fit the EA description, but it would be quite a stretch...

I forgot to add that I will never again rent anything smaller than a minivan if there are four or more people just because of luggage space issues. We ended up taking DM and DSF to the airport on the 4th with their luggage (2 large bags plus one carryon), then returning to the hotel (where we had checked out but stored our luggage, 2 largish suitcases, one carryon, one unexpected box of souvenirs) to pick up ours! Only ten minutes each way, but still...
