DH - stay at home Dad, generally nice guy, plan sabateour...
Me, planner
DS - wish kid - 10 years old
DD1 - 8
DD2 - 6
Uncle Andy - 44 acts like 10 - wonderful companion.

Day two:

Breakfast in Kid's Village. The food is all sponsored by Perkins Pancake. (I guess they will have my business from now on.) It was delicious, and DS ate very well. He is a picky eater, so I was glad to see he liked the food. Then we just lazed around a bit - no matter what my husband promises me, he will not leave for ANYWHERE until 11:00AM. It is physically impossible to make him move. (He is passive aggressive, REALLY! ) Last night, we all agreed to leave for MGM around 9:30 or 10:00. But NOOOOOO.... So, yesterday, Kevin and I just lazed around, while DH and the girls practiced softball with a whiffle ball.

Finally - around 11:15, off to MGM. As we were driving there, I asked everyone if they wanted to see Fantasmic tonight. DH moaned and groaned, and I told him I refused to be a lemming that gets there at 11:30 and leaves at 5:15!! So, he caved and bowed to my superior planning skills. Upon arrival, I made Fantasmic dinner reservations for Saturday night while 3 or our party went to check out Star Tours. It is DD1's favorite mgm ride. At this point DD2 not so nicely informs me there is NOTHING she likes to do at this place. Not Doug, Not Hunchback, Not Beauty, not not not.... plans must be changed, and quickly. We kept in touch with the rest of our party via our radios. DD2 and I keep staring at the map in the hope of finding something for her to do. We go to meet the rest of our family at Star Tours and since DD1 had so much fun, I picked up 4 fast passes right away. Return time was right before our lunch PSs at 50s Prime Time.

I bribe DD2 with something - was it ice cream? to go see Mermaid, which is very nice - better, though, when you are really, really hot!!! She kindly approves and we see the show. Then DD1 and I ran off to cash in our 4 fast pass tix for Star Tours while the other 3 went to check in at Prime Time. On our way through the arch to the rest of the park we are behind a family when the dad shouts out "Kill the Beast!" The echo is marvelous, so DD and I do the same. The dad and we start singing... "No one looks like Gaston..." This was a great spontaneous moment.

On to Star Tours, where, after our first pass through, we radio'd over to find that our party was still waiting at 50s Prime Time. So, we zipped back through Star Tours again. I would have to say that row five is much bumpier than row two. Finally off to Prime Time where DD1 tells me she is starting to get a blister. After we are seated we make plans to get to first aid to:

1. Refresh our DSs clothing, and 2. Get blister taken care of.

Mom was our waitress. Our friend Andy could easily work there - so the level of hi-jinx was higher than usual. All the tables in our room were involved! This one poor guy bore a slight resemblance to Bob Barker. So everytime a certain waiter would come through our room he would shout, "Bob Barker is in the house!" (A la Elvis.) One woman tried to hide her green beans under the garnish but was caught by Mom. Speaking of getting caught by Mom - I had no idea I put my elbows on the table so much! We all were dragged into another room to sing Happy Birthday to Skippy - (real name???) who turned 80 that day! I can't begin to count how many laughs we had. The service was fun, but people were not on the ball. We were overcharged by one meal, which I didn't catch at the time. (I wasn't on the ball either!!) I have to try to resolve that today. I would not order the pasta and cheese for the kids again - they do not like it.

After lunch the party broke up again - 3 to first aid, 3 in search of characters. We all met up in Washington Square. DD2 met Smee, Miko and Pinnochio. By now the first aid bunch had caught up. DS got lots of special attention from Pinnochio and Mico. Thank YOU!!! During this time we finally found something that made DD2 happy. Honey I Shrunk the Kids Playground, and Washington Square character meet. We spent a very pleasant hour or two there.

After a bit we decide to stroll off to TOT to see if DS can ride it. DH rode it and decided no, not a good idea. So, we went in to get seated for the 7:30 Fantasmic. the kids all got their extra clothes on, and on the whole we stayed pretty warm. DH ignored my excellent clothing advice that I grandly dispensed this AM and therefore he was pretty cold! I knew he wouldn't mind much if I bought the $50 Sorcerer Mickey blanket throw! So, after a trip to the restroom around 7:15, I brought that back where it was welcomed with open arms. (At this point I start thinking I must be miserable to live with... when it comes to WDW, I find I am a told-you-so kind of person. I really must make an effort to stop that immediately. )

Fantasmic was lots of fun, we sat in the Mickey section, wheelchair area. A family from Yorkshire were next to us. Andy asked them if they lived near the pudding factory. (They took that bad joke pretty cheerfully!) All the kids loved Fantasmic. I used earplugs for my DS and they were a big help.

When we reached the car, the kids fell asleep almost immediately. Arrived back at Kid's Village with only a little bit of getting lost - we had made it all the way to Sea World!

Everyone was happily snoozing when Godzilla went off again! I thought we had unplugged that thing!!!!!!!!!! SURGE SURGE SURGE... You have to hear this alarm to believe it. And why does it keep going off at midnight?

Tomorrow - Wednesday - is our last sunny day for a while, we planned to use it wisely.

I love hearing about the funny stuff that goes on at Prime Time. We've never been, but I'd love to go some time. Sounds like you had a good day. Funny, my alarm clock rings occasionally at midnight (but it doesn't say SURGE) looking forward to reading more.
