Our week at BVC

Just returned from our week at BVC, a little on the chilly side. We were in room 277 at the very end of the hall which was great, headed out the door to the stairs and walked across the front of the hotel to bus stop. This was a dedicated 2 bedroom which was great, put 4 teenage girls in one room and never had to look at their mess all week. Our view was Epcot, couldn't really see anything but that was ok.

We loved the BCV and the location to MGM & Epcot. Whenever we didn't know what we wanted to do we just walked to Epcot to hang out.

Some highlights: Took the Keys to the Kingdom tour which was great and would even do again. Called Wed afternoon and got 8:10 PS for Cinderellas on Friday and watched Wishes from inside which was awesome. Park closed at 8 so we walked out with nobody there and they didn't rush us either. Had trash & towel 3 days in a row, weird! Also got Brown Derby PS on the same day as calling, again walked out of the park with nobody there. Hit Toon Town right when they dropped the rope, went into the Hall of Fame. There are 3 lines you can go in to see characters. Got in the princess line, Cinderella & Susie (mouse) were there. Went right out and got in the Minnie line, saw her and Chip & Dale. We didn't do the third line which was Pooh. Walked out and Goofy was standing all by himself by the Barnstormer. We also went in Mickey's house, saw him and were out of Toontown in 45 minutes as the strollers started coming in. Longest ride we saw for anything was 70 minutes for Peter Pan. Walked right in to Prime Time when they opened one day and were seated so cancelled our PS.

People thought it was busy but we thought it was managable. Of course the last three times we have been there it was 4th of July week (not our choice, dance convention for our daughter). Many times the waits were long at restaurants, and we were told more than once they were short staffed which was obvious as there were empty tables. More than one cast member told us it was "busy." Bus service was never an issue, crowded a couple of times. Just need to allow enough travel time. One bus driver told us they are 150 drivers short, hiring every day and it will be worse when SSR opens.

Girls went to Blizzard beach on Wed, nobody there and they closed at 2 because the wind had come up. Girls got free cookies and pretzels (pays to be cute!)

Haven't planned our next trip, we are West Coasters so it takes a bit more planning--we do DLand alot! We wre excited that for the first time we were able to fly nonstop on Alaska. Last time it was a 13 hour day and three flights plus the 3 hours jet lag!

pcryan...thanks for joining the DISBoards and giving us this report! Glad you had a good trip "home" and enjoyed the BCV. We can assume that you had no problems with check in, room cleanliness, general resort upkeep, etc?

Thanks for taking the time to post your comments. :)

Thanks for the great trip report. Sounds like another fabulous BCV vacation. We also love walking from BCV to the World Showcase just to hang out.

Welcome to the DIS & congratulations on your first post!

Thanks for the report. :D

Sounds like you had a great trip. Thanks for posting!

Thanks for the great report! I enjoyed reading it. So you had an Epcot view but really could not see anything in Epcot?

Our Epcot view was the cranes they are using to build "Soarin." The trees really blocked anything else.

Sounds like you have a great trip. Good idea for the 2nd bedroom for all the girls!!;) Thank you for posting!:)

We're doing the non-stop Alaska flight this June and can't wait! We spent $376/ticket and I was grousing about it. The next day internet rates went to $416!

Glad you enjoyed your stay, nice to hear from a fellow Northwesterner!

I booked our flights last June right after they announced. When I checked in December just for fun the cheapest ticket was 668.00. Two weeks later there weren't any seats. When we left Seattle on the 14th people missed flights, Alaska had overbooked 500 seats. Lines were terrible. When we got to the Orlando aiport on Sat (21st) we were there 2 1/2 hours early and the first thing they asked is we wanted to stay over for free tickets. The only thing was they couldn't get us out on a flight to Seattle on any airline until Tues. Our flight was overbooked by 10 seats.

Nothing like a plane full of kids that had just been to DW for a week. At the airport they were all crying, as soon as we took off they were sleeping!

Cheri what type of transportation did you take from BCV to Cindy's for your 8:10 PS? And about how long did it take to get there?

We have PS there at the same time during Spring Break and was wondering what the best way was to get there that early in the morning from the BCV. Thanks Cheri.
