We are just back (12/17-12/26). I had read every thread about strollers while trying to decide whether to bring one or rent. We ended up bringing our Safari TT double jogging stroller for our girls 3 & 6. I am SO glad we did!!!
For starters it made the airport experience a breeze. We gate checked it so we were able to use it right up until boarding. One parent pushed the stroller and the other handled the luggage. No complaining or whining, they were happy as clams and so were we. We had absolutely no problems with a "big" stroller in the parks. It's not any bigger than the rental double and turned and handled really well. We were super careful about not running up peoples heels, but unlike other peoples experiences I read about, everyone with a stroller or wheelchair seemed to be careful. I was never run into or run over, in fact we didn't have any experiences at all with rude or inconsiderate people. We got to the parks really early so for the most part we weren't dealing with big crowds but there were a couple times in the evening we were in a really crowded park. We did Osbourne lights twice and did World Showcase one evening. No problems at all. We weren't in a rush so we just took our time and slowed down when the crowd slowed down. I think having this stroller everywhere (as opposed to just in the parks) was a big part of our trip going so well. My 6 year old would never have made it with the amount of walking we ended up doing. We were able to push them from the car to the parks and we used it at Gatorland. The stroller paid for itself 10X over on this trip.
