I've been reading all of the wonderful posts and thought I'd share ours. We are leaving in a week and staying at Music. We went last Sept. and stayed at POFQ and had a wonderful time. Last year our family consisted of me (DW), 30 something, DH, DD 15 months, DD 3, my mother and father. We had an excellent time and really appreciated the extra hands with our children. I don't think we would have had nearly as good of a time without their extra help.
This year we are adding my aunt and uncle to the mix. My parents invited them and I think everyone is already starting to regret the decision. My uncle can be difficult. They didn't want to plan any reservations for dinner, because they didn't want to "over-plan" their vacation. Luckily my dad talked him out of this and I made reservations for everyone. It quickly became apparent that they wanted a more "adult" trip and we, of course, want a more kid-centered trip. So - we have made separate reservations for restaurants and are meeting up at various points through the trip.
We are spending the entire first day together at MK, including dining. The second day at MGM, we split for dining but plan on being together for most everything else.
The third day is still up in the air, my uncle wants to rent a car and drive to the coast where relatives are. We are definately not doing this and are going to spend the day relaxing. My parents are undecided. They would rather stay with us, but feel bad because they did the inviting. They still don't know what to do.
Wed, the fourth day, we have a split day, the morning at AK together and then we split. They will be doing the Aloha thing and we are going to EPCOT. This caused a little bit of awkwardness, because we were all supposed to go to EPCOT together the next day, our last. We decided that it would be best for us to do MK on the last day. Our kids are really small and that will be their favorite thing to do. Besides, that's the only day of Magical Beginnings and the Electric Light Parade, which I think they are really going to enjoy.
Besides, I think we'll need a break by the end of the trip. I'll write a report when we get back and let you all know how it goes. I'm hoping for the best, but stealing myself for the worst.
