Is it just me or does everyone go a little bonkers once your DCL cruise comes within a few days...?

I've shopped, shipped, checked, double checked, questioned, verified, planned, listed, reserved and changed my mind at least 10 times on various choices. Amazon has My address on a speed dial route! My kids have begun the "smile & nod" method to the "if mama ain't happy" theory and the husband has begun parroting "whatever you'd like" lending to the 'happy wife' theory.

The reservations for the pooch have been set at doggie day care, the car has been cleaned out for the road trip to the airport. The mountain of laundry is nearly done and the suitcases are down from the attic and wiped clean.

All the online check ins are done, dining reservations made and fastpsss choices have been set. Magic bands arrived for the WDW leg of the trip and waterproof cameras and lanyards have All been verified to be water tight in our swimming pool.

Southwest airlines knows we're coming and DME knows where we're going!

The office staff is thoroughly jealous and the family is dreading the vacation slide show already.

My otherwise organized home has become strategic staging areas of FE gifts, packing stacks, toiletries, beach gear and paperwork.

Am I crazy or is this the magic of the Disney Dream that has overtaken my mind?????

You're crazy.

Kidding, of course. There are some people, like us, who don't like leaving things, especially new things, to chance. And we don't like "figuring things out as we go", especially for vacations as expensive as this. Aaaaaand we don't want to get on a boat, hundreds of miles at sea, only to then remember we forgot to stop the mail or adjust the house thermostat, and can't do anything about it. It'll nag us for the rest of the cruise, and that's no fun.

But I don't think it has anything to do with Disney. I think when the stakes are high in terms of time, expense and distance for any vacation, you want to cross all "t"'s and dot all "i"'s before you leave. Some of us are just better at it than others.

I admire how organized you are. I always have the best intentions to do this much but in the end I'm scrambling around at the last minute reminding myself that we'll be fine if I don't have that extra travel size bottle of sunscreen. Of course the Disney planning part has been done and overdone 6 months in advance but in terms of actually going it is always better in my head. Sounds like you're prepped for a great trip!! Have fun!

Sounds like me...except I made a custom daily themed journal for our 15 day cruise and ordered it for DD. It had spots to add what we ate, favorite part of the day, the evening show, characters we met, etc. THAT is when I knew I lost it. LOL

I am exhausted just reading this. :) Have a wonderful cruise

I travel for a living and typically pack my suitcase a few hours before my flight, but something about our DCL cruise just made me go all sorts of crazy. Haha.

We are only going to Tucson (from Orlando), not Europe!! You will have a lot more to worry about!!

You're going to tucson from Orlando and we're going to Orlando from Phoenix. We were just in tucson for my son's u of a orientation. Small world!

I LOVE to plan for cruises, and vacations in general! I have an entire planning checklist of things to do. It is almost, but not quite, as fun as going on vacation itself. Yep, I'm sort of special. :)

I try to be super organized...but in reality I'm packing the night before we head to the airport. I can't let the little things bug me. My DH attitude is (no matter where/how we're travelling) as long as we have our passports and a credit card, we're good to go.

And don't forget underwear! I am also very organized prior to leaving. One time just going to Florida to visit my parents then to WDW, I forgot to pack underwear. A quick trip to Wal-Mart was made after arriving at my parent's home. Thank goodness we went there first instead of WDW. lol

For a WDW trip, I wouldn't care much about missing something because I could always make a run to WalMart. For a cruise, you may be limited with options. I think I will obsess more on a cruise.

I admire the planners. Just not one of them. I pack two days before. Maybe I will get an excursion or two ahead of time. About the only thing I make sure to get done are palo reservations.

Sounds a lot like me...except I have random lists everywhere too! I keep a laundry basket in the guest room to randomly store stuff I only need for the cruise. Things get added as I think of them leading up to the trip. I print off packing lists from Pinterest to make sure I don't forget something obvious (like someone mentioned above!).
