Our UnFORGETtable summer trip! A June TR:Update 10/24 Animal Kingdom!

Tomorrow is Ellie's birthday so I'm making her cake tonight. She's going to lunch and the movies tomorrow with my mil and then we'll all go to dinner after work.

I also hope to get some beach pictures loaded up soon.

Sorry I missed saying Happy Birthday to the birthday girl. I hope it was a fun one, Ellie!
(What movie did you see?)

I look forward to seeing beach pictures. :)

Thanks for all the birthday wishes for Ellie!! She loved seeing them! She had a great day and weekend. She went to see Nanny McPhee Returns with my mother in law and then we all went out to dinner that night. Unfortunately, she got a migraine during dinner and so we had to cut it short.:sad2: She slept on the car ride home and after a while perked up enough to open gifts and sing happy birthday. That weekend my niece and her husband came down. We went to a cool outside art show and just enjoyed being with them for the weekend.

The week went by in a whirlwind with me being back at work. I'm really anxious because I have the principal's daughter in my class. He's not what you would call a well-liked boss so...:sick: Anyways, school starts tomorrow and I can't spend the whole year second guessing myself. Just going to have to see how it goes...

*****************************************************
If I remember correctly, the last time I actually did a trip update, we had just left Magic Kingdom. We returned to OKW to swim. I apparently took no swimming pictures this day.:confused3 Maybe they will turn up somewhere else. In any case, we had a relaxing swim and I think the kids ate some pizza rolls. We went back to Magic Kingdom with the sole purpose of seeing Main Street Electrical Parade and Summer Nightastic.

We arrived around 7:30 and there were already no spots on Main Street. That's crazy!! So we walked on and found a spot right near the Liberty Bell. It was right on the corner and there was just enough room behind the rope for us so no one could come and jump right in front of us right as the parade started. *So we thought!*

We got situated and then planned out our snacks. We were right next to a popcorn cart so we got a bucket of that. John went for my new parade must have of Casey's and got Ben a cinnamon roll from Main Street Bakery. The kids and I people watched and then we all enjoyed our snacks. There was a nice family sitting next to us so I chatted a bit with that dad. We could hear the music so we knew the parade had started and they were clearing the street in front of us. We all stood up so we could have the best view. That's when it happened. This lady comes up with two little girls, maybe 3 and 4? and sits them ON TOP OF MY FEET! When I try to move my feet she says to the one little girl-"Don't sit on that lady's feet" Uh, hello!:scared1: Anyways, I get Ellie to move down a little so I can move over. The dad I had been talking to is astonished. Then the mom walks away and goes to get in the line for popcorn. Now, we were near it but not near enough in my opinion to leave your two kids of that age. While she was gone the dad said to me that I was nicer than him. But, I couldn't say anything to those precious little girls. The mom came back just in time and the parade started.
Some of these photos are not mine. When I ordered my photpass CD they were on there. Kinda weird but they were good pictures!:thumbsup2

We really enjoyed this parade. I love Spectro but was ready for a change and this parade was hit. We then tried to go towards the castle for fireworks. John took us over to the side, near Crystal Palace. It was not a good spot so I don't have any pictures. Every shot I took had trees in the way. I did enjoy the show though. Unlike MSEP though, I will be glad for Wishes to be back. We did finally get to see Tink fly-it was our first time!! This one picture was on my CD so I'll leave you with this gorgeous sight!

That is odd, but those pictures are awesome! Wonder where they came from????

I will never understand why people don't have parade etiquette. It doesn't seem that hard to comprehend to me?????????

How very strange that those photos were on your PP cd, they are really good though!

I loved the electrical parade when we saw it at DLR, I'm so glad that it has made it's way back to the MK. Hopefully I'll get a chance to see it before it's gone again.

Sorry about the parade cutters, I too am shocked that the mother just walked off and left them sitting there in a big crowd of people. What was she thinking?

Happy first day of School! :upsidedow Hope everyone's day was good.

Beautiful photos of the parade. I don't understand why some people think it is okay to show up at a parade at the last minute and put their children in front of you. :confused3 I'm always worried about losing sight of the kids at night if their not next to me, especially with the crowds. It was nice of you to let the girls sit in front of (on) you.:cutie:

I think they are Disney's photos. How they ended up on my PP cd I will never know but they are beautiful.

People are clueless aren't they? She thanked me at the end for letting her "steal some of my spot". I just looked at her and shook my head before walking away.:confused3

It is strange that they are there but I'm not complaining. Those are some great shots!

I do hope you get to see the MSEP Michelle! It's such a great parade.

She wasn't thinking...not at all. Honestly, for as long as she was in line, the girls could've stood in line with her and seen most of the parade just fine.

Happy first day of School! :upsidedow Hope everyone's day was good.

Thanks! The first couple of days have been ok. Just long and kinda boring really. I like it better once we get into a routine and start to get into the "meat" of things. Makes time go by faster.

I would've let them stay there in any case because I just don't like confrontation, especially over that, BUT I would've been a little more aggravated if the mom had stayed. When she dropped them and left I was just too flabbergasted to really even give her the evil eye once she made it back to where we were.

How awful about that woman shoving her children in front of you! I really don't get why parents think it's okay to do that just because their children are small. If anything she could have ASKED. :sad2: I've had awful parade luck at Disney - crazy things like this to a grown woman shoving herself and 2 children into a space that would fit about half a rear end, to a child standing in our stroller because DH was holding Henry.

Anyway - wasn't MSEP awesome?!?! We LOVED it too! I do wish I had gotten to see the Summer Nightastic fireworks, but I can't complain about Wishes one bit!

An actual update!!! Do I have any readers left????? I need to get moving on this thing! At this rate I won't be done before our Christmas trip!!! I'm just not sure I am cut out for the TR thing...love reading others and try to stay caught up on them and neglect mine altogether. Oy!

Friday-Epcot Day
The day dawned beautiful and HOT! We got up and dressed and had a quick bite to eat and in the car by 8:10. Got to Epcot and posed for a few photopass pics.
Photo0089.jpg

We then headed to wait in line at the turnstiles. Got through there and split up. John takes the kids to Test Track and I go with the stampede to get FP's for Soarin' and then we meet up at Spaceship Earth.
IMG_3153.jpg

I remember posting a pic of the crowd with my phone on Facebook asking where was I...MeMom answered correctly right away!!

I made it through the stampede with minimal injury and got FP's and went back to wait at SE. Finally John called and asked where I was???? He was waiting at Mission: Space for some odd reason.:confused3 They headed over and we hopped on the golf ball ride.
IMG_1148.jpg

After our ride there we headed here
IMG_1146.jpg

We rode Living with the Land first. Ellie took these pictures.

I love that she zoomed in on that pumpkin!!

After that we used our FP's for
IMG_1147.jpg

At this point we headed to World Showcase. We had a 1:00 ADR for lunch and wanted to get some of the countries done before that and also a Kim Possible Mission. We stopped at the KP booth in Innoventions and got a FP. It started us somewhere, can't remember. As we walked to WS John thought about it and wanted to start somewhere else so we stopped at the KP kiosk thing but they said they couldn't change it. So, we just decided to make it work and headed into the countries.
Now, I'm gonna be honest here. I have NO idea what order we did any of this stuff in. For one, it's been a while and I didn't take notes, for another we split up part of the time because Ellie was wanting to find characters and Ben could care less. I know at some point I had Ellie finding characters and John and Ben were doing Kim Possible. I think Ellie only did part of 1 mission with him. I do know we all saw the American Adventure together (I napped...) Did I mention it was brutally HOT!!! I'm really not a fan of World Showcase during the day in the summer.
Oh, and Ellie and I did pick a pearl too...gotta load that video!!
So, here are some pictures of my random World Showcase Adventure!!!

Hey Stacy! I'm here!

I know what you mean about neglecting your own trip report, I do that all the time....
I need to get moving on mine too!

I think Ellie zoomed in on the pumpkin's belly button!

IMG_0720-1.jpg

This was the first year we didn't do Kidcot stations. Except for Kim Possible and characters, the kids had no desire to slow down in World Showcase.

We all met up at some point for our ADR at Rose and Crown. We got seated outside. It's covered so you are out of the sun but it was very hot and there was only a light breeze. Won't eat there for lunch in the summer again. Food was good. I love the sticky toffee pudding.
IMG_0716.jpg

We perused the shops there and found some more friends.

I believe Ben and John were off doing more Kim Possible. Apparently John took no pictures. I know I walked Ellie back to France to find Marie-I already posted that picture but I know it was after lunch. We got there and waited. Right when we were next she took a break. *sigh* I feel for those characters but my lunch was sitting like lead in my stomach at this point. We waited and I chatted a bit with the dad behind us in line. All the little girls looked like wilted flowers. I remember a mom coming up and talking to us about waiting for Marie. Now, there was quite a line behind us and this lady just came right up to where Ellie and I were. The dad and I were exchanging glances and trying to drop hints. At one point she said something to her girls about them being the only ones in line. The guy said something to her and I pointed to the line behind us. Poor lady acted all confused and thought we were all just standing there to rest. Ya, right. Anywho, Marie came out and Ellie got the hug she wanted.
I called John and they were back in England finishing up a mission. I asked him to get me a drink because at this point I thought I was going to be sick. As we got back we found these two that we couldn't pass up. Even Ben wanted in.
IMG_3157.jpg

John brought me a drink and I had to go sit down while they visited with Mary and Bert and finished the KP mission. This is the one Ellie helped with I believe. I felt better after getting some water in thankfully.

We decided we'd had enough and headed back to Future World. I wanted to go to Innoventions and get our special Visa meet and greet photo. Found that and went right in. What fantastic character interaction!!! Absolutely loved it!

I love how the photographer but Ben under the green hat like Goofy's.

Ben hates that that sweat mark is in all the pictures from his backpack.

After leaving here (which we didn't want to do...loved the character fun!) we hit up Club Cool and then left the park. First stop was Wal-Mart...I had some things I needed to buy...ahem. We grabbed Subway (in the Wal-Mart) and took it back to OKW. After we ate I know we went to the pool. We were exhausted honestly. I may have taken the kids to the community hall to play games...if we did it wasn't for long. I know I did some laundry and they watched a movie but we were all in bed early this night!!!

Isn't Epcot the best for characters? Ellie hit pay dirt for sure! Did the lady in France ever figure out that she needed to get in line?

Oh and I second your yum on the sticky toffee pudding!:cloud9:

Ellie did get a lot of new for us characters that day! They had bunches of them together and we just happened upon them-it was great!
The lady did figure out to get in line. I didn't really buy her act but didn't have any intention of letting her get in front of us!

I could go for some sticky toffee pudding right now.:lovestruc

You had some fantastic character meets! Love Bert and Mary!!!!! That was worth the heat alone (I can say that b/c I wasn't suffering in it, right?:rolleyes1). Loved all the pictures from WS, my favorite! I know it is a tough place in the heat though. I have to say that I have no idea how you can brave Disney in the summer. :worship: I know I couldn't do it.

R&C is on my "to do" list, as is almost every WS restaurant except Marrakesh (half naked women flitting around the room while I eat doesn't appeal to me. :lmao:)

Oh and btw, I felt so sorry for you when you commented that you might not have time to finish this TR before it is time for you to head back to WDW. :rolleyes1 You poor thing.................. :sad2: ........ what a dilemma you have! :rotfl: I'll be happy to take that December trip off your hands to help you out though! ;)

I'm still hear too. :wave2: Don't ya hated how life gets in the way of Disney. :rotfl:

Ellie was able to meet a lot of characters! I would love to meet the mice. My DS wants to try KP this trip. Your visa photos turned out cute. :goodvibes

You made me laugh! Thank you...I needed that this evening! You should just feel horribly for me, right??? I can stop and pick you up on the way down if you'd like.:flower3:

Honestly, going in the summer is not as bad as you think. You just have to take breaks and hit the inside things when it gets to be too much. If faced with going in the summer or not going at all, I'd take summer many times over!

Rose and Crown is a good one. This was our 2nd time and we've enjoyed it both times. There are quite a few WS restaurants still on my list. I'm with you on Marrakesh though.

Thanks! Life does get in my way of DIS'ing. Especially right now in the beginning of the year. Not sure that it really slows down later either but I like to tell myself it will!

I was glad to meet the mice. Not ones you see often. As the interest in characters wanes, I am glad she got to meet some different ones.
Ben loved Kim Possible. I'm hoping for good weather in December so he can do some more and we won't feel like we're being fried.

Looks like you had some great character meets! :thumbsup2
