I did a full dining report on our previous trip and, rather than do that again, I thought I would just quickly report on our TS restaurants and how we fared. For what it's worth, we were on the dining plan.

Kona Cafe - This is our second time eating at Kona Cafe and, because the terriyaki steak was so tasty the last time we ate there, DH and I both ordered it again. Our steaks were flavorful and cooked perfectly. I also decided that I was woman enough to take the lapu lapu challenge and, I hate to say it, I failed miserably. No wonder it's such a strong drink - it's mixed with Bacardi 151 - LOL. Oh well, at least I can say that I tried one. The one negative that we experienced at Kona was that the service left a bit to be desired (which was unfortunate because the restaurant was not busy at all when we dined there).

LeCellier - Because we couldn't get into LeCellier for dinner, we opted instead for a late lunch. I ordered the cheese soup and DH ordered the ceasar salad as appetizers. Both were fabulous!! We also both ordered the mushroom filets and substituted the cream cheese mashed potatoes for the risotto. Our steaks were so tender we didn't even need knives and the mashed potatoes were creamy and wonderful as well. Service was also top notch.

Yak & Yeti - This restaurant was a new one for us this trip and we booked it based on the many excellent reviews we had read on The DIS. DH and I both had the steak and shrimp and, again, we were wowed at the meal (although DD claimed most of my shrimp - LOL). The rice and accompanying veggies were very good as well. We were also very impressed with the cream cheese wonton (with pineapple, strawberries, and icecream) dessert, so much so that DH and I have already attempted this dessert at home. The wontons alone are really quite bland but the strawberries and pineapple sweeten them up just the right amount.

Tony's - This restaurant is another new one for us and I was a bit worried based on the large string of negative reviews lately. I ordered the steak and DH ordered the chicken parmesan. We had eaten the chicken parmesan at Mama Melrose last year and it was not that good, so I thought he was crazy to attempt it again - LOL. He said that it was much better than the chicken parmesan at Mama Melrose and was a nice departure from all the red meat we had been eating. My steak was decent - cooked and seasoned well. I think at this point I, too, should have opted for something different because I also was getting a bit tired of steak.

Yachtsman Steakhouse - (Again with the steak, you say?). This was another new restaurant for us and, as I'm sure you all can tell, DH and I are big steak eaters so, of course, we were very excited about Yachtsman. First of all, the bread that they bring out is so good in itself, I could have made a meal on that alone. We particularly loved the garlic rolls - YUM! DH and I both ordered the ceasar salads and, honestly, were a bit surprised that, instead of chopped romaine, we received 4 full romaine leaves as our salad. Although it was a lot of work, we both found the salads to be very fresh and tasty. For our entrees, DH opted for the 24 oz. porterhouse, whereas I opted for the bone-in ribeye. I was a bit bummed that the accompanying side for my steak was only a single onion ring with cooked spinich in the middle, but DH let me share the french fries that came with his steak, so I was good. Actually, I take that back: my ribeye also came with a bone containing marrow, which I just couldn't bring myself to try. Both of our steaks were very differently seasoned but both were just incredible!!! I was also a bit disappointed that the adult desserts left a bit to be desired (DH and I both ordered cream brulee) and I wish that we would have ordered the dessert that DD received - - she got the paintable puzzle, with a chocolate brownie and a homemade marshmellow which looked TO DIE FOR. Also, the service we received at Yachtsman was so amazing - our waiter was very personable and took the time to chat with us several times at our table as the meal progressed.

It really is amazing that we did so well with our food this trip. Even our CS meals, with a couple limited exceptions, were all very good this trip.

Anyway, if you have any questions, please feel free to ask. Thanks for reading!!

Thanks for the reviews. So glad you enjoyed Yak & Yeti. We found it to be a gem when we went in September and can't wait to go back.

Thanks for the reviews. My DH had the steak at Kona too, he liked it but scraped the pineapple stuff off of it! LOL.
I know he'd love Yachtsman (I don't eat meat but he does), so I'd love to get him there next time!

Lovely reviews! Yachtsman Steakhouse is our traditional fist night dinner when staying at BWV. Glad you liked it!

We have been thinking about re-visiting Kona, as it has been years since we have been there - I think we have to make it a priority next trip.

We cancelled our Yak & Yeti ressie in March, but will also have to plan it for next time.

Thanks for sharing!

Yes, I agree with that - Y&Y was very, very good.

You definitely should - we had been saying the same thing about Yachtsman for our previous two trips. We are always on the dining plan, so a 2 TS meal is always quite daunting. However, Yachtsman was very much worth it.

Thank you for reading. Definitely try Kona - - I think that Kona is overshadowed by Ohana, which is good for us (because we can always get an ADR) but, crazy in terms of meal quality (at least in our experience).

Thanks for the reviews - Yachtsman Steakhouse sounds amazing.
